In short: Too hot. Too packed. Too expensive. Too few water stations/toilets.
In full: I heard about all the problems in previous years, but joined up anyway - so probably my fault and shouldn't complain now. Hoped that lessons had been learnt and went out to really enjoy the day - and I did, kind of! The views were lovely and there were lots of walkers so I kept a slow steady pace throughout and finished well. But... I struggled to get water on the course (and after), I fell over bottles strewn in the road (pathways too narrow to be able to discard them safely), I waited 30mins+ to start and then had to walk 20mins+ to collect my bag/medal. Felt a bit let down actually as stewards were lovely, as was the music (very patriotic), but the beginning and end let it down.

In short: Oh my God!!!!!!
In full: Felt good up to mile 13/14. Had put in the training and really didnt expect to find it sooo hard so soon. Atmosphere, sightseeing, other runners and the fantastic crowd kept me going from then on.
Told myself 'never again' as I crossed the line, but of course as the day wore on and a new day brought back all the great moments, amazing people and masses of compliments from friends and family a thought is beginning to creep in.....maybe next time I would know what to expect and could do it better???

In short: Very windy at times and not much scenery in parts. Pleased that I finished though, especially as I kept ahead of that pesky green caterpillar ;)
