In short: Race of the year In full: Didn't manage to nail this race, but for atmosphere and organisation it is the best races I have ever done outside of a big city marathon.
Will be back again and again. As long as I can lace my own trainers I will enter this race.
Superb marshalls as well. Date of review: December 10, 2012

In short: superbly organised, a great race In full: This is a very good race to do. It is challenging enough to be interesting and though it has some climbs the downhills seem to compensate so it is a quick course. It was windy this year so PB's were hard to come by, but that's life.
This was my third time at this event and I intend to do it again. Date of review: January 25, 2012

In short: This race is like a weird cocktail, all the wrong ingredients combine to create running perfection. In full: I can't believe how good this race is. It is brilliantly staged and attracts super elite athletes to fun runners and everything in between.
The course start and finishes on the track and takes in a wide range of the scenic and the dreary. It is challenging but not ridiculous and has the best marshalls of any race I have done.
Oh, and the best goody bag, too.
er, and nothing can compare to the compere.
Not hard to see why they filled up in advance. I will be getting my entry in early for the next one.
Not to be missed.

In full: This is a great race with superb organisation and marshalling. Although not the most scenic the hills and variety make it really enjoyable and the start and finish on the track is brilliant.
Ten miles is a really good distance for experienced runners or anyone who's trying to step up from 10 or even 5k and the time of year makes it well worth training for and then enjoying a well earned rest over xmas. Date of review: December 15, 2010

In short: A well organised bargain. SUPERB!!!!!! In full: I entered this race for the first time. Yes it is tough the hills are quite hard but the enthusiastic dedicated marshals virtually drag you up them with their vociferous support and encouragement. The Goody bag is a magnificent bonus at the end and justifiable has legendary status.
Can't rate it highly enough. wonderful event, faultless organisation and friendliness. Everything you could want from a race of this type.
I will be back and look forward to doing it all again. Date of review: December 14, 2009
