In short: Marking the Half, wow what a course! In full: Was going to go to the end of the SD Marathon to give out entry forms to our nearby trail race but saw the course of the half the day before. entries were still open. Thanks Ann! What a course, straight up and down one of the highest hills in these parts, up War Down, nice through Chalton before a hard climb up to Ditcham Park School and a run in to the finish. the last hill(rear of QE park)is not the longest but a killer where it is. Definatly page in for nice year. Be prepared for that hill at the start though! Date of review: June 10, 2013

In short: great 10km race with the most senic start and finish I've ever experienced In full: Such a lovely start and finish location in the quad of a beautiful school. Course along a traffic free old railway line with a bit of a housing estate. Got a best time for a 10k race over the last 3 years. Nice one! Would definatly do again. Date of review: April 9, 2013

In short: Glad I got up early! In full: First time doing the Exbury and glad I did. Loads of parking, lovely setting, nice rural lane course, good views of the I.O.W. and the last km in the gardens. No truck with where the finish line was myself. Could not fault the organisation, so many friendly marshals out there! Many thanks to those brave souls in the heavy showers. In short: Excellent new race on the grassy downs In full: Great replacement for the Duck Pond. Enough parking and not too muddy, barn in case it's wet. The course is over grassy downland above Lancing with great views south, North and all around! Long up and down hills with a bit of flat as well along the top but a Devil of a climb around 2.5 miles in. Paths rutted in places, so bring your cross country shoes in 2013. I was in multi use ones and shoulder butted the ground around 5 miles. No serious damage and was well able to continue. It finished with a long climb, a turn left and a plunge down to the line. Superb! Well down the Striders and thanks to all the great marshalls out around the course. Date of review: December 4, 2012

In short: Wow this is hilly! In full: Last done this race around 10 years ago. I'd forgotten how hard the hills were esp. the first one and start of the last one. Hats off to anybody who ran up them all. Lovely scenary although a tad misty. Course great and not too much mud. Great run in. Thanks to all the friendly marshals. That lady and the top of the middle hill looked very cold! As others have said who wants to to a boring 10 mile on the road at four times the price!!!!! Date of review: October 29, 2012

In short: Great first time event, varied interesting course In full: Well impressed with the organisation for this first time event. Loads of friendly marshals all over the place and great support in a lot of places. One marshal missing in Lavant, just before it turns off to go on the old railway under the main road bridge? The course was really varied over the first half and a long drag up and around The Trundle but presonally I did not mind that. Second half was nice and flat mostly along the old railway line on tarmac. Last few miles dragged a bit. Overall superb and has the makings of a classic race. Date of review: October 15, 2012

In short: Wet, wet,wet and uphill, downhill, uphill, downhill, uphill, downhill! In full: Not done this race for serveral years. I seem to remember long, hot steep hills many times. Not this year. The wettest race I've ever done. I was in a running tee shirt and was still cold. Much respect to those in vest/shorts. Absolutly soaked to the skin but really enjoyed it! Grit your teeth to get up those long steep hills. Last one was a bit overgrown and my laces came undone and enjoy the long, grass downhills, nice bit of grip, before a long flat sprint to finish. Thanks to all the marshals out on the course. Heros the lot of you! Must pencil in for next year already. Date of review: September 24, 2012

In short: Great 9 miles up and down chalk ridge with scenic views In full: Tough trail race with the short, sharp hills near the start. The first hill is a killer! Then a few more up and down the ridge before a more undulating terrain through lovely country side. A slow climb back towards the village before a last plunge back down from the ridge. Well signed, loads of friendly marshalls, buffalo burgers, cake and tea at the end. What's not to like! Date of review: September 17, 2012
