In short: Brilliant, unforgettable, tough as hell but fantastic support and cameraderie In full: The first and hopefully first of many of this fantastic race. The scenery was truly glorious. It was tough - really, really tough, there were hill on the hills and someone seemed to put a hill at the top of each of those. But was it worth it? Every bit. The atmosphere was brilliant, the support from the marshals was superb and the camaraderie among runners was like nothing you'll ever encounter in a road race. I chatted, laughed, moaned, sobbed, encouraged and yelled my way around the whole course. All in all the most memorable race I've done in years, great value and to top it all the best bling ever in my 13 years as a runner. A fixture on my calendar from now on. In short: Superb. Fantastic atmosphere, clockwork organisation, fabulous crowd support and a proper wicking t-shirt in my size that I will definitely use In full: Absolutely brilliant, I loved it. Thank you to all the lovely, supportive marshalls and especially to that wall of people yelling encouragement on the hills in Abbotsley.
The crowd support especially was fantastic - I came in just below the two hour mark, and from the amount of yelling and screaming you'd think I won the race!
Thanks a million and see you next year Date of review: November 16, 2009
In short: Loved it, thanks for a brilliant race! In full: Okay I'm doing 20 miles because I have to rather than from choice (FLM training), but what a great way to do it! The scenery is picture postcard stuff, the marshalls are just the most fabulous supportive people you'll ever come across (they even dish out jelly babies!), the atmosphere is fanastic and the top that is the momento is something I'll actually wear for once. Big, big, big thanks to Bedford Harriers for organising such a great race Date of review: April 5, 2009
In short: Simply the best! In full: I love this race - gorgeous scenery, really friendly, supportive marshalls, great atmosphere, and a t-shirt at the end that actually fits! Well done to the organisers, brilliant race, see you next year Date of review: March 29, 2009
In short: Loved it - gorgeous scenery, great atmosphere, friendly, encouraging marshalls and a goody bag as well as a medal at the end was far more than I expected for seven quid! In full: Thanks everyone. Somehow this race manages to combine a relaxed family atmosphere with clockwork, professional organisation. The scenery was absolutely beautiful, and somehow it made the whole course seem either pancake flat or downhill! Definitely one I'd do again Date of review: May 20, 2008
In short: Love it, love it, love it! In full: Great race, thanks guys. Lovely, supportive marshalls, clockwork organisation, the course is beautiful and this year's goody bag was exceptional. It couldn't get any better. Date of review: March 30, 2008
In short: Brilliant supportive encouraging marshalls braved atrocious weather. The calendar as a momento was an inspired idea, I love it! Can we have one again next year? Date of review: December 9, 2007
In short: I loved this race, which is one hell of an achievement considering the weather this morning! In full: The organisation is first class, the scenery's lovely, but it's the atmosphere that makes it. There's loads of cheering locals around the villages, and the marshalls are so brilliantly encouraging I almost forgot I was running in November in the teeth of a howling gale! Almost.... :-) See you again next year. Date of review: November 18, 2007
In short: Well organised, nice run with a good atmoshpere, although the weather was killingly humid so no chance of a decent time, or at least that's my excuse! Also I was chuffed to bits with the running bag as a momento. Date of review: August 7, 2006
