In short: The mutts nuts
In full: Excellent, the only down side was loosing my shoe in a mire, and completing the last 7 miles with only one shoe, thanks mainly to the encouragement of everyone around me, including an offer to loan me a shoe for a spell. Never run much, never off road, and never through that kind of mud, brilliant fun, but some of those hills.....

In short: Interesting for a first timer
In full: Chaotic start, after 200m everyone gets bunched up doing a sharpe right on the the lower prom. Commentary only seemed interested in mentioning club runners, water stations with cups were a nightmare, I'll strap on bottles in the future. Whoever said this was flat, was obviously from the foot hills of the himalayas. especially on the return leg (3 to 6, and then 10 to end). Managed a 1:48.01, as thats my first time out it counts as a pb. It was cold, blustery at times, and challenging for someone whos never run further than 10k. When I've done more distances I can give a more balanced review, overall I thought it was a reasonably well run event, good atmosphere, nice medal, and t-shirt at the end.
