In short: Spectacular scenery, Wonderful marshals but wow,the hills!
In full: This is a wonderful event, really well organised. But it is tough & the hills made the last few miles a walk/ hobble! Lovely scenery and the marshals & helpers were just wonderful. Can't thank them & the organisers enough.

In short: Could be a lot better but thanks to the encouraging marshals
In full: On the plus side, the marshals were lovely, its fairly cheap, and if you can get round this tough 20 miler then your marathon should be easy!!

However, running out of t-shirts way before the start was poor. Why bother if the organisers aren't going to provide enough to go round and give it out before the race.

The course is bland at best and borderline dangerous because of the traffic, especially on lap one before the field spreads out. Majority on A roads that have no pavement.

As stated by others, directions to the start were poor.

Difficult to know where the finish line was.

Provisional results are miles out, hopefully this will be adjusted later.

In some ways i'm glad I did the race as I know that by finishing this tough course, in awful weather with minimal support, I should find Paris marathon a breeze!!

In short: Event cancelled due to the weather at late notice. No refunds given.
In full: Nobody who witnessed the weather conditions in the days leading up to this race could complain about it being cancelled. Talking to people in Keswick there was a feeling that it was a shame that they had so little notice.

However, I found the fact that no refunds are to be offered very harsh. Organiser offered a t-shirt of the event and 'discounted' entry to next years race. Felt like a bit of an insult.

In short: Everyone should do this before they die!!
In full: I can't be complementary enough about the FLM. Clockwork organisation, fantastic atmosphere and the encouragement and support from the crowds was so powerful that it almost brought me to tears. Again, again, please.

In short: Stunning scenery, great organisation, wonderful atmosphere.
In full: My second race in the series and this was even better that Derwent. Genuinely one of my favourite races of the year if not ever. Incredible scenery and race setting, and the lovely weather helped. Am entering the whole series next year.

In short: Fantastic event run in magnificent scenery.
In full: This is the kind of event that reminds me why I run. Wonderful, friendly atmosphere, challenging without being brutal, incredible scenery and superb organisation. Particular thanks to the marshals, braving the drizzle to cheer us on.

In short: Fantastic race, my favourite.
In full: This was my third Coniston 14, and my most enjoyable yet. This is a real road racing gem and no wonder it books up fast. Amazing scenery, challenging but fair course, superb organisation and a real local, friendly feel. Wonderful.
