In short: Excellently organised, flat and mainly scenic race
In full: Helped this year that the weather was great, no wind, bit chilly to start but nice and sunny later.

Marshalls and organisation was great, no problems at all.

Pretty flat course, few very slight inclines, quite a bit of nice scenery though a few bits through offices etc.

Overall - great, would think about doing again.

In short: Great organisation, order the weather next time !
In full: Marshall's were great, course is flat really apart from one hill at mile 10 but not a big one if you live round here. Heat was punishing, but that's always a risk in August. Plenty of water stations.

In short: A great challenge with lovely scenery and great organisation
In full: The weather conspired to make it really hard this year, but what do you expect in the hills at the end of October ? Great organisation and thumbs up to the brave marshalls / helpers and supporters who toughed out the weather to keep us all going.

In short: A few challenging 'undulations' but great organisation great race
In full: Segments have lots of ups and downs, 3rd quarter (mile 14-18ish) worst for hills but if you get past that it's just hanging on (apart from a small walk at mile 21 up the final hill). Brathay open day was good, kids had some fun. Marshalling was superb, water stations well manned and with all you need - water, isotonic and Kendal Mint Cake. OH felt there couls have been some loo's dotted around the course - sometimes a bit of extra distance required to get to public ones. Overall a tough but very enjoyable experience !

In short: Great PB course and great marshalling, and empty roads as a bonus.
In full: Personally I prefer more scenic routes in the country, but the organisation was great, chip timing helps, a basically flat course lead to a PB for me and I'm sure many others. A bit pricey for a 10k but appreciate closing roads off etc. must all cost money and it's for a good cause.

In short: A varied terrain makes for a fun run
In full: Great weather this yr, a sunny interval between the hail and snow was very welcome - though made it hard to know what to wear.
The marshalls were great - kept you well on track and words of encouragement. I preferred the mug to a t-shirt as last years was a horrible colour (personal opinion) and lives in the bottom of my drawer. Start was a bit of a jostle, not sure why so many people wanted to go so fast up that first hill !

In short: Changed route for 08 - interesting conditions !
In full: (I have to declare an interest as a Skyrac member...)It was definitely an interesting challenge today, lots of standing water and thick mud, a tricky little b'r of a hill to go up twice and treachorous footing - but I did enjoy it in a masochistic way :) Looking forward to my bottle of beer now - glug.

In short: Great countryside, challenging but do-able
In full: A very varied course, some steep uphills, some long downhills and some nice flattish bits. Excellent cakes and drinks at the checkpoints, good navigational instructions (only went wrong once - not paying attention !) and good views / scenery all the way. I guess the weather can be a big player in the character of the race from one year to the next - this year saw a few boggy areas and minor streams to wade but mainly characterised by the wind - particularly strong in your face over the exposed drop from the top of Trollers Gill down to the river, but was happy with that compared to the torrential rain of the afternoon before which could have made it very uncomfortable. Would recommend it to anyone.

In short: A race you should do at least once !
In full: There was more flat(ish) than I thought but having to skip over stoney ground on the last one is hard for aching legs. Felt like I had really run something worth running and can only imagine with good weather it could be glorious.

In short: Great village atmosphere and support
In full: Up hill and down dale - definitely the pattern for this one. A real festival with great local support and bands playing.
