In short: Great race, well organised, good route
In full: Ran this race in June and it was the same route in Dec, but oh so different to to run it!
Think both are great local races. The numbers have increased from June to Dec, but not too many people.
A couple of steep hills in there, but the descents are great.
So cheap in comparison to other races.
I'll be back for both races next year!

In short: Top notch race
In full: I'm biased as I am from Tring and run with the club.
But this is a great race, which offers value, great organisation and an excellent route.
I would love to run it every year but I'll be out marshalling next year!
All different abilities run this race which is great.
Run this race before it gets too popular!

In short: Great race, good organisation, v wet
In full: 1st time doing this race.

V well organised and the marshalls were friendly despite the awful weather. Well marked course.

Water bottle was a different idea rather than a medal or t-shirt, but would be good to have the year and name of the race on it.

I was hoping for more off-road sections, but none the less still a good course.

Will probably be back next year.

In short: Great race, good organisation, v hot
In full: I did the 20-22miler.

Directions were good, but my reading of them not so great! My 1st event with navigation!

I took plenty of fluids which was lucky as it was v hot.

It is such a cheap race, but well organised. Make no mistake this is a tough race with varied terrain.

An improvement on the directions would be to say where the direction arrows will be at, so you can be sure you know where you are at on the directions.

Overall a great race and I will be back next year.

In short: Well organised, hilly 10km
In full: 1st time I've done this one but I will definitely be back. A couple of decent hills in the race, but 2 steep descents which were welcome. It was dry so made the hills easier!
Well marked via trees and arrows. Due to the small number of runners sometimes felt like you were out with no one else around!
Small race but should grow as great value for money.
Overall v well organised and marshalled with a water station, which was unexpected. Also plenty of red kites keeping an eye on all the runners!

In short: Well organised, flat, fast 10km
In full: Well organised local road race. Flat and fast.
Well done to the organisers on re-arranging the start/finish given the wet weather.
Phoenix trail makes for a nice traffic free 2nd half of the race.
Decent goody bag with a proper chocolate bar! T-shirt and medal. Medal with the name of race / date on them would be a plus.
Overall a good, flat well organised race.

In short: Great race, good organisation, v hot
In full: This was my 1st time running this race, but I will definitely be back.
The only downside was that it was 3 laps and it was v hot, but never got bored just hot!
The course was flat, well marshalled, 1 water station per lap and had good support. It had a great atmosphere with plenty of supporters and the animals to keep you company!
It is good value as you get free entry into the park. The medal and goody bag had plenty in it (water, banana, pen, pencil, cake).
I'll be back.

In short: Decent race, but needs to be traffic free for safety
In full: I would do this race again because it is close to where I live.

Positives are the downhill finish and decent scenery for a road race. Generally the organisation was efficient.

I agree with another reviewer that it was hard work getting the chip off at the end, so maybe use cable or bag ties to fasten chips through the laces.

The major negative was that it has become increasingly dangerous due to their being 2 way traffic on most of the route. With 1500+ runners doing the race it would be better if 1 side of the road was shut off. I understand that this may be expensive, but would be a great addition.

Obviously the weather was awful and I felt for the marshals, but more support from them would have been nice!

In short: well organised race, I'll be back next year
In full: V well organised half marathon with good marshalling and signs.
As others have mentioned more trail would have been nice, but great not having to run on roads!
1st 6 miles along the canal towpath was reasonably scenic, but the miles in the woods were much better.
I was expecting more hills, but was also grateful there weren't more!
Overall a good race that I will be back for next year.

In short: Well organised and great scenery
In full: V well organised race. Well marshalled and signposted. Was nice running through the woods.
Only downside was the start as it got quite crammed and jammed up.
I'll be back next year.
