In short: My first ever 10K and it was sensational.
In full: Ohh man a live number 5.
I enjoyed this so so much as my first ever 10K race.
I had trained from a non runner in 11 weeks. It was quite hilly during the first 6K and I think I took it a little fast in the beginning 5 mins thinking I will slow down and by using my heart rate monitor will bring it back donw to a steady pace but NO WAY did this happen as it way way too late as you then seemed to encounter hills that made you work hard for what seemed liked a good halfway. The last 2K were hard but one thing I did not want to do was to walk one little step so I kept the pace and run/jogged al the way. I was buzzing all day, so much so that a few hours later I paid online to enter the Hampton Court 10K in 8 weeks time!!!!
I loved it big time and if you are thinking about your first one then go for it!!
It's also nice to be abel to wear the t-shirt as I made ovewr £100 for the hospice, in fact I am wearing it everyday so when questioned about the t-shirt and race I can tel them all about it with aplumb and agusto!!!! he he I love it.
