In short: A superb first time race
In full: What a fab day! The organisers have done a super job of putting on a great race. The course was undulating and the scopions tail was a stinger but that all added to the fun of the day. Fab goodie bag, great support from the locals and a lively finishing area. BRILLIANT! :-)

In short: Fantastic race - even with the wind and rain
In full: Brilliant race, marshalls were upbeat and encouraging even though they were cold and wet. Lovely course, even enjoyed the hill at the end. Cakes at the finish were a godsend. Brilliant race, organised, marshalled and supported by great people.

In short: Organisation didn't help the slower runners
In full: I had a hard race today, mainly due to the weather, but not helped by the fact that 2 out of 4 of the water stations had no water left for the slower runners. If it wasn't for the locals tirelessly giving out water on the roadside, I'm not sure I would have finished. Only other minor complaint from me is the finish. I was mortified when I finally come into view of the finish only to find out I had to run the long way round the edge of the field to the finish! Very small complaint I know but after a hard race....
The scenery was fine, not great. Hardly saw any marshalls or first aid people. The other people I talked to en-route and the locals made the race for me. Goody bag was great, medal was great so could have been worse but could have been better.

In short: Excellent Local Race
In full: This race is a great example of a well organised, well supported local race. I had a nightmare at a big £30per head race recently yet this £6 per head race was far better organised. Off road, cross country and lots of mud after the recent rain made for a great morning out. The tea and cakes at the end were superb.
