In short: Steep climbs, exciting decents, lovely scenery - and chocolate!
In full: My first 13k race, so a PB was assured. Some lovely scenery; sweeping views from the hilltops occasionally made up for the killer hills to get there. Good marshalling, but could have done with a few distance markers, and another water station. Decent T-shirt and a chocolate egg (scoffed as post-race nutrition) were decent prizes for finishing.
Friendly atmosphere - with a mix of runners from the speedy whippets at the front to dogged plodders at the rear, everyone was cheered on to the finish.

In short: Flat course with great scenery, good for beginners
In full: This was my first competitive run, and it was great. Nice flat course, well marshalled and friendly runners too. Mug for finishing was disappointing, wanted a T shirt so I could show off at work!
