In short: A very good race. While it was a little warm and sunny for the runners it did bring out the spectators!
In full: A very good race, but the hills continue to surprise me even though I've done this a few times now.
A banana at the finishing line is a nice change from many other events and was a welcome fresh taste in the mouth. Thank you very much.
The one complaint I have is the loudspeaker commentator at the beginning who charmingly commented as the last few hundred were running past him "give them a cheer they're the ones who will be struggling later on". Charming we all thought. Hardly the motivational talk you want at the beginning of any event. I might have started very close the back but I progressed nicely and I finished in the first half of the field, and wasn't struggling that much thank you very much!

In full: I'm not sure I like races that split the start for the men and women. The women only event inevitably saw gaggles of gossiping women blocking the route for those behind them during the first mile or so. Men help to brake up this tendency I find.
In parts because of the course you tend to run in single file along pavement with the risk of being hit by cars coming behind you if you try to overtake. As long as you remember this and look behind you you're fine though.
The first part along the river path next to Hampton Court is lovely and the support in some of the villages along the way and in Kingston itself is very very good.
And the bonus? Because it starts so early you're finished and home and showered in time for an early lunch!!!

In short: Were actually stopping people with 'slower' numbers going into the f'fast' pens this year, which was good. The organisation is brilliant on this one, especially considering the number of runners.

In short: lovely morning run
In full: The first half of the route is gorgeous along the bank of the Thames past Hampton Court Palace. Baggage was very disorganised - having asked everyone to put their race numbers on the luggage tags, why were they then giving us all extra tickets? Very slow and start delayed a little. Very crowded start - is there any way to close the bridge rather than have everyone crowded on to the pavement? Had people kicking the back of my legs which is not fun. Also it might be good for slow runners and walkers to start at the back of the pack. There was - honestly - a girl walking over the bridge which is less than a half mile from the start! Otherwise very good and field soon spread out.

In short: Route was good. Support variable. Baggage store was very unorganised leading to a delayed start.

In short: Very good course - mainly flat with some hills to keep you focused. The sponges were fantastic as was the occasional sound system set up in nearby gardens!
