In short: Convenient alternative to the previous weekend's ladies only race
In full: Running in and around the local park, so all and sundry watching and supporting. Perhaps a bit quicker than the previous weekend's ladies only race, but that is set up for beginners. Not entirely flat, but probably as close as you'll get in Luton.

In short: Undulating race taking in scenery in perfect September weather
In full: Start was a little chaotic seeing as cars were being let through until about 30 s before the start. Nice scenery once we got going, especially the blackberries. Not many supporters around the course especially considering the good weather, but some would have been involved in the fun run. Water did run out at various points. Good value. Speed generally not that fast at the front, but not that slow at the back if you see what I mean? Got a medal as the memento at the end, which I hadn't expected.

In short: Perfect PB potential in good scenery
In full: Number of runners for the available space was perfect, everyone could get into their stride really quickly. Scenery good, although I was suffering too much to notice anything but the flamingoes and the noisy swans. Three lap course made pacing for a 60 minute 10 k a breeze (go past one sign every two minutes and you're there!). Definitely back next year.

In short: Hilly side of undulating, but not as bad as some made out
In full: Got a PB because it was my first race, but not sure I would have if it hadn't been. I was glad my usual training routes aren't entirely flat. Shame about the bird scarers scaring the bejeezes out of some of us. Nice medal.
