In short: Thank you HRR
In full: Fantastic race, great atmosphere, challenging course in places, but what goes up... Thank you organisors, marshalls, volunteers and very vocal supporters. Only gripe - the faster finishers had eaten all the cake!

In short: Fantastic race
In full: Low-key, friendly, well organised event. Beautiful scenery, great marshalls, plenty of water/ drinks stations, bit lonely in places but gave you a chance to enjoy the countryside. Good support from spectators/ supporters / locals who braved the rain. Friendly, chatty runners. Can't be faulted. Thanks Gillingham Trotters and all volunteers who helped make this such an enjoyable event.

In short: Challenging course, superb marshalls, well worth doing.
In full: 'Undulating' really is the word - and not many flat bits in between! Supportive and well organised marshalls, lovely refreshments afterwards, nice scenery going through the countryside or the villages (and some welcome local support), well-manned and frequent water stations, great hoodie. Results were on the website very quickly and photos were also quick. The 2 laps work as the 2nd lap is shorter and follows a slightly different course - once you rejoin the first lap course you know you are really on the way home. And I don't even mind the short stretch through the housing estate at the end (keep saying "just 5 more minutes"). Parking was an issue - even the overflow parking was full and many just resorted to parking in the housing estate. Perhaps another overflow car park can be found next year. Thanks to Bedford Harriers and everyone who made this tough race so enjoyable.

In short: Well done Fenland Runners - another excellent race.
In full: Great marshalling, good facilities, organisation spot on and no confusion about the finish this year. Interesting scenery although I missed some of it as I had my head down battling against the wind! I just wish this was a little closer to home as it's definitely in my calendar again next year.

In short: Friendly, low key, tough challenge
In full: Friendly organisors and marshalls. Fellow runners were very supportive and encouraging. Could be a bit lonely if you didn't run with a group, but passing locals often offered "well done"s. Signage was fine until just before the finish - 2 signs pointed in opposite directions, we chose the wrong one and added about a mile to our route! Interesting and varied scenery, some rather bleak but other parts were uplifting. Especially enjoyed the tracks through the woods. Undulations were a bit hilly and those steps!
Only moan - don't people in South London know about poop scoops?
Thanks NEJ. Hope to do this one again next year.

In short: Small, friendly, well organised marathon.
In full: Lovely 1st half - the cliff top views made the miles disappear. Second half, though flat(ish), was more challenging. A relentless headwind for 6 miles, often running on your own, plus a hill at 25+ miles made you feel you'd earned your medal. Very friendly runners - chatty and caring towards the back, good lucks from the front runners, and lots of 'well done's from locals and holiday-makers on the sea front. Fantastic marshalls - attentive and still supportive after a very, long day. (Apart from one marshall I heard complaining at the finish that "if runners can't make the cut off time they shouldn't enter". She was insisting the cut off time was 5 hours. It wasn't, it was 6-7hours. I'm sure runners new to marathons or much older, experienced runners are grateful that there are marathons which allow them to compete.) Overall a big thanks to Thanet AC, organisors, marshalls, volunteers etc for a very enjoyable event.

In short: Enjoyable but very tough marathon.
In full: No problems with signs for marathon runners - we didn't need to even look at the map or instructions. Good venue, on-site parking, refreshments, plenty of loos, showers in leisure centre. Friendly marshalls at numerous water stations - some with lemon, orange squash, fruit, sweets and cake. Good mix of very friendly runners and walkers. Some steep or long hills, but the view from the top was fantastic. I think I just need tougher legs for next year! Many thanks to all the volunteers, who had a very long day in hot conditions.

In short: Couldn't be faulted. Well done Harlow RC.
In full: Really well organised. No problems at all with parking, venue, facilities, water stations etc. Great marshalls - encouraging and very efficient with traffic so runners weren't held up at all. Nice course once you left the housing estate and a track finish. Some inclines made it tougher than at first appeared, but at least it wasn't too hot this year. (3 water stations - with bottle - and a sponge station were well stocked and manned.) Varied range of abilitites made it suitable for even beginners. Well done to the Army guys running (with HEAVY rucksacks)for Help for Heroes. Extra bonus -results already posted on website before 6p.m.
