In short: A community spirited, professionally organised, 10k country lane road race (in one sentence!)! In full: Excellent comms, extremely well organised - puts more expensive larger scale events to shame. Neat touches include: - car parking with well signed and marshalled routes to HQ - pin holes in the vest numbers - baggage drop - pre race safety brief from race director - friendly marshalls and supports in numerous supply - quiet and scenic country lanes - excellent snack menu (although the gentle waft of bacon butty as you're picking up your race number - bit unfair, surely no one can run on a bacon butty?)
One negative (but restricted by space) - narrow run-in for the finish, difficult to overtake in the final sprint. Date of review: March 4, 2013

In short: Lovely course predominantly through the countryside of South Warrington, well managed and supported, track / stadium finish. In full: Something in the course for everyone - uphill first half, downhill second half which either permits you to rest if you overcooked the first half, or put the hammer down. Water stations every 3 miles, well marshalled and well supported along the route but great support in the final 600m as you run back down the start avenue with supporters cheering you on from either side. Parking provision is pretty good, although you may have a long walk back to the car. Downside - lack of baggage claim (promised this year but didn't materialise) Plenty of people will cite cost as a downside - firstly I'm local so my travel costs are minimal, but they also offer a lifetime membership scheme which includes pre and post event activities. So if you don't like the cost but like the course, sign up. Date of review: September 9, 2012

In short: Great rural course on roads and undulating lanes. Great value. In full: You never know what the weather is going to do at this time of the year - it felt quite exposed in the windy and blustery conditions but this is the country. Many many positives for the race - comms, parking, bag drop, refreshments, marshalling, support, route, scenery etc.... Only comment for improvement would be organisation at the start line. Only observation for improvement Date of review: January 23, 2012

In short: Really well organised, lovely course though uphill on the out, but nicely down on the return. Refreshment stations saved me. Date of review: October 4, 2009
