In short: Very quick race.
In full: Age old frustration of runners not lining up per ability. Self policing of colour coded numbers doesn't work.

Other than that, I did the race for a pb and got one, so I have no complaints.

Not perfectly flat, but still very fast and I liked the long straight out and back course. I never pay attention to scenery, so the surroundings didn't bother me.

Accurate KM markers, will be back next year.

In short: Fantastic race!
In full: Absolutely loved it. Unlike in other races, you can believe the "fast and flat" description here. Great organisation, brilliant support and marshalling on the course, but most importantly a definite pb race.

In short: Not an amazingly exciting race...
In full: ...but then, I don't really race to get excited.

Nice cheap club race, definite promise of a pb. Well worth the shot as don't come across many 5 milers.

Will be back to do it again.

In short: My first 10 mile race...
In full: ...and it didn't disappoint.

Ok, there were a few issues. Start was delayed, couldn't hear any of the announcements as we waited to get out of the gate, mile markers were way out until 9 miles, but I still thoroughly enjoyed it.

Excellent course, chip timed, not sure what happened for others at the start as I was queued for quite a few mins before we set off and didn't notice any problems with the water stations as didn't take/want any.

I quite enjoyed the rain - although the "puddles" in the first few miles were freezing!!!

Thanks to all the marshalls for sticking it out on what had to be pretty horrible and cold conditions.

Will definitely be back next year.

In short: Very wet/muddy with all the overnight rain, but at least no wind.
In full: Really good course for a pb, second time at this race and will be back for more. Recommend to anyone.

In short: Nice race, potential for pb if not windy!
In full: Enjoyable, but tough race for me as have been injured past few months. Turning back at half way to head into the wind was a killer.

Nice touches with band along way, people offering oranges/sweets, 4 water stations.

Good medal and bag (chocolate!)

My only gripe would be from starting the half and 10K at the same time. Would have preferred to have the 10k runners start at a different time, also to have a clearly defined start line.

In better conditions, definitely has potential and would try it again... preferred this to Carlisle.

In short: Beautiful race, fantastic support, great experience
In full: Although I ran the race injured, I still thoroughly enjoyed it. The scenery was absolutely gorgeous, water/fuel was plentiful and there was more spectator support than I thought there would be.

The hills are definitely not something to take lightly so you must do some hill work.

Great goody bag and post race food/massage at the finish and I loved the medal.

The only reason I'm saying I won't do it again is that it is a bit too far to travel. Maybe in a few years.

In short: Enjoyed the race.
In full: As others have mentioned, the start was a bit chaotic, but luckily I was near the front so didn't impact me too much.

Enjoyed the course, although wouldn't describe it as flat. Despite the undulations, I would still bizarrely say it was a fast course.

Managed a 10 sec pb on a dodgy knee, so very happy.

Great finish at the stadium and good bag - tshirt, medal and my favourite... biscuits :)

In short: The last km was tough!
In full: My first repeat race. Love the Bupa events, great organisation and atmosphere. Got a good start so didn't have any bottle neck problems. Was hoping for sub 45, but just missed target with that last hill. PB by the skin of my teeth - 1 second, but 7 mins off my time last year. Think I preferred last year's course which was ran in reverse.

In short: Really enjoyed it.
In full: Just outside my pb, but the heat took its toll in the end.

Really enjoyed the course though, definite promise of a pb in cooler conditions. Hill at 10 miles not as bad as I thought.

Friendly marshalling and lots of water stations - I did think they said there would be sponges though? I didn't see any.

Good t-shirt, but I do like a medal, would have preferred that over a non-tech T.

Very speedy online results given the size of the field on a non chipped course.

Age old issue of toilet queues. Race had to be delayed a few minutes to wait for people.
