In short: A great little race, & pure Yorkshire scenery!!!, if you get chance to look at it!
In full: I entered this, after really enjoying the 'Ilkley Moor Fell-Race' that the club promotes.
It's a wonderful event, with a steady climb fo the majority of the way to Middleton Moor.
It was nice to gaze upon my 'Lottery win' house again; 'The White House' (the Art-Deco beauty that looks southwards towards Ilkley Moor.
The other reason for running this race is the self-bribery... if I do well, I can call back in Otley at 'Dunnies' (aka; 'Wharfe View Cafe') for dinner

In short: Cracking scenery, but perhaps not one for a first-timer??
In full: Having said it's not a first-timers race, that's just what it was for me!! (having only done 2 10K's before!
My training was my usual twice-weekly 4mile (each way)run to work!
Oh, & the 'Trunce' (4-mile) cross-countries at Penistone.

The mixture of surfaces was intriguing; the varieties of sand.
The Kent Channel crossing was incredible - I'm sure I saw fish at one point.

The scenery was wonderful, may be running it to the Cumbrian coast would be more 'uplifting' though? (as much as I like Morecambe - especially the gorgeous Midland Hotel)

As for that headwind after the turnaround?, blimey!?!?

Prior to the event, I'd stated to family & friends that my 'guestimated' time was 1.45:00, or under.
I was dead-chuffed to see that I'd recorded 1.42:52!!!, & '51st/237' (according to 'ukresults.net' the same night)

Not a bad time for a cyclist, I thought!!
