In short: At last a lapped race that makes sense. In full: Marathons are tough. Having (and giving) constant support from other runners, and marshals, made this event for me. Long views from the track gave plenty to take my mind off the repetitive nature of the course, and forget that we were a stones throw from a busy main road. Despite the undulations this is a fast course, and the ups and downs provide a change for the legs compared to pancake flat trudge-a-thon. One downside - they seem to have made the cycling track out of the hardest tarmac known to man, and so my knees are feeling the pounding today, but it wouldn't stop me returning for another go. Hilariously big finishers medal is the icing on a very tasty cake. Date of review: June 2, 2013

In short: What a great run. Proper no-frills trail run (not really xc) in beautiful countryside. Well done Overton Harriers, I'll be smiling all week Date of review: April 7, 2013

In short: 60th anniversary - it's not a fluke. In full: After a break of a few years Maidenhead Easter 10 is my 10 mile pb again. It;s not the most scenic course, but works perfectly for parking etc. Enough toilets if you don't decide to join the queue in the last 10 minutes before the start. Great marshals, and a lot of familiar faces. Date of review: April 5, 2013

In short: Great first time race In full: Very well organised and marshalled. Real facilities and catering in the Rugby club before the race very welcome on a cold day. The course is varied and undulating, nice to have the road at the start to let the field spread before hitting the trails. Getting a goody bag at all for this cost makes it a bargain - nevermind chip timing, the rugby club facilities, parking, etc. I think I originally booked the Cliveden 2009, but it was cancelled due to conditions - nice to get the mug at last... In short: Great value marathon training race In full: Very well organised, good facilities and a bargain. The course is gently undulating, and traffic is controlled very well. Will be back at some point, even if I'm not in marathon training. Thanks to organisers and marshals for their efforts yesterday, and for not cancelling which seems to be the vogue these days if it looks a little cold... Date of review: March 25, 2013

In short: Well done 209 for putting the event on despite the conditions. In full: Lovely mixed terrain route made better (more challenging) by the dusting of snow. Glad 209 decided that the event could go ahead, loved it. Great value, great marshals, thanks. Date of review: January 20, 2013

In short: Great route, and lucky with the weather. What more could you want for a christmas marathon. In full: Wet underfoot, but still a quick course. The shale sections shouldn't cost that much time. Bit of an issue at the first water station caused a few minutes delay, but overall very well managed, and a tonne of fun. Do it Date of review: December 23, 2012

In short: Lovely In full: This was a very well organised event, everything just worked. Lots of support for a rural route, and heaps of marshals to keep you on the well marked course. Congratulations to the 'new management' it was brilliant. The course is tough, but more undulating than hilly. You are constantly on the climb or descent, but none of it is that brutal. I was left with a very satisfied after glow from this race. Highly recommended. Date of review: October 8, 2012

In short: Tougher than Chuck Norris In full: With more than a 1000 feet of climb in a 7.5 mile looping course this was never going to be easy, but it has plastered a smile on my face which should last a week. If you love a bit of technical single track, and brutal climbs, get yourself to then next edition. Loved it

In short: Tough off roader, with plenty to look at to take your mind off the pain. In full: Trailplus did a great job organising this one. Plenty of very helpful marshals and helpers, and a surprising number of spectators around the course. HH sponsorship meant plenty of freebies :) The lap format was just about bearable, though by the 5th and 6th laps I was keeping myself going by chanting 'only one more' and 'never have to see this again'. The ups were testing, but the downs were probably more brutal, with some off camber tracks to help shake up the hips and knees. Overall an enjoyable challenge. Date of review: September 23, 2012
