In short: my second time of running - a fabluous foray into beyond 26.2, glorious scenery, lovely marshalls, a real gem
In full: second year running for me (my first ultra last year). Despite being not on top form, reminded me why I came back for more. Weather kinder this year. Bluebells, wild garlic and views - glorious. Marshalls and checkpoints are great as are the fellow competitors - always people to chat to. Have I sold it to you yet?

In short: If you want to try and ultra but you're not sure - this is the one to have a go at ...
In full: My second ultra, brilliant for Ultra-newbies. Plenty of challenges and aches in all the right places but organised by a wonderful team who are so so friendly (you almost feel part of the family!); lots of banter and support on the way round, gr8 goody-bag and prizes. Would absolutely do this one again.

In short: Lovely mid-week race, not for the flat road runner types though
In full: Fourth time I have run this race and despite being hopeless at running up hills (and it's 6km up), I am OK at downs. I love this race, hence I return. Good to have a view this year. Friendly and very effective marshalling. I will be back again next year. Only gripe - WHEN do we get some results please?

In short: beautiful scenery for a beautiful day and I got a PB too
In full: lovely location for race, well marshalled and organised - perhaps some portaloos? - there were queues for mens and ladies. never done this race before but will definitely be back again.

In short: challenging race for all levels of runners, do NOT underestimate the term undulating, an extra water station would have been useful for the heat today
In full: Have done this about four times and definitely the hottest for me this year. It's popular with our club being localish so another draw for me. Gorgeous countrysite, not too much traffic and well managed where there was. Could have done with another water station (I know logistics might not allow) for this year alone as many runners were coming in beyond sweating!! Hope the guy who passed out big-time at the end is now OK. One for levels of runners, pacing essential, and 'undulating' has a degree of understatement about it. I will be back tho', as ever.

In short: Great race (did the two-lap marathon option), although 'challenging' head wind made it a toughie
In full: Really well organised, welcoming race. Very lonely second half once we lost the 1/2 marathoners, but the encouragement by the cadets at the water station was great. More signs through Taunton to the start would have been helpful - for us non-locals - and another water-station would have been good too. As a marathoner, some sports-drink would have been nice too. Hills really not that bad at all & a down-hill finish is a nice touch. Facilities at start/finish were great, good to have a hot shower before the two-hour return journey.

In short: Pleasant, beginner friendly, bargain of a race, but could do with a little more atmosphere
In full: Well organised, bargain-priced race. Could have done with some earlier parking signs, but v easy to access from motorway. Found finish a bit disheartening. I mis-calculated the weather and overheated & struggled a little with the headwind and blazing sunshine (not that I'm complaining about sunshine!). Course seems good for a PB (although not mine), but people would lead you to believe that this is THE place for a PB and I'm not sure I agree. All in all very friendly and would definitely recommend for beginners - like the timings at the start to get you in position.
