In short: muddy, slippy, hilly, treacherous, brilliant!
In full: First time, but definitely not the last. Although I really don't like x-country at all, this race is such a great laugh that you forget the hills and the mud and a PB etc and just enjoy being out in the wild! Ok, the hills are tough, the steps at the end are cruel and the water crossing makes for a squelchy last mile or so but the organisation, support and atmosphere make this a great race that I will definitely do again. Next time in spikes....

In short: not bad - apart from the smell!
In full: first time I've done this and thought it was pretty good. A few more hills than I had been led to believe, but nothing too aggressive.

One grumble - is it absolutely necessary to route the course past a sewage works??!

In short: described by one as 'strangely difficult', and I'd have to agree!
In full: Great race, very friendly and well organised. It's harder than you'd expect for a flat course, but overall good fun!

In short: Second year in a row for me, a PB this year as opposed to a PW last. It's undoubtedly a challenge climbing out of the gorge, but well worth the effort for a great racee. Thanks to 487 from Wolverhampton for helping me through mile 11!
In full: the course is really scenic and a much nicer experience for having done it before and knowing what's to come. Silkin Way was no easier this time round, but it's a great field and great atmosphere. A sincere thanks to the chap from Wolverhampton (487) who kept me going at mile 11 when the legs got a bit heavy. Will deinitely be back!

In short: lovely race, totally let down by dreadful organisation
In full: ratings on the race are my wife's, the rest our our experience of the day. My wife did this as her first organised race. 1.06 for the race 1.40+ odd to get out of the car park (which can't be more than half a mile to the road). Great shame as it totally took the gloss off her achievement. Not impressed...
