In short: Great as long as the wind behaves itself!
In full: Nice little 10k well worth turning up for. Potentially a very quick course - the start is downhill and the rest almost entirely flat. However, being on the seafront means if there's any wind around things could get tricky. After a pretty speedy first half of 18:15, the second half became a right old slog into a righteous constant headwind, resulting in a finish time of 37:48. Well marshalled and organised.

In short: As good as ever
In full: Third time I've run this event and the high standard was maintained. Not much the organisers could do about the delayed start due to traffic/baggage problems. Marshalling and organisation as good as ever. Fast, flat, scenic course. Very windy this year, but still managed to set a new pb.

In short: Nowhere as tough as feared
In full: This is a really enjoyable race, and people shouldn't be put off by its undeserved reputation as a tough course. Yes, miles 3-6/7 are all uphill but it's all a very gradual incline. There are numerous other slopes but they're too short (although fairly steep) to worry about. If you save a bit in the tank for the last 4 miles you can really make up the time lost and then some, as I managed to take 2 minutes off my pb.

In short: Tough course and poor organisation
In full: Despite an excellent goody bag and an interesting use of a small area to get 13 miles in, this race suffered from a general lack of organisation. No marshall at one turn, mixed with cones being placed in the middle of the path rather than cutting one route off, meant myself and about 5 others got lost, losing at least 90 seconds each. Couldn't even try to memorise the race route as only a general description was given in the pre-race info.

Shan't be coming back for this again.

In short: Everything I'd heard was true and then some...
In full: Magnificent organisation and the most enormous, vocal crowds you can imagine. Even running through Bermondsey was a pleasure!

On the blue start very little congestion and across the start line in 20 seconds from pen 3!

Beat my pb by 18 minutes!!

In short: Very well organised with plentiful marshalling and support
In full: My memory had told me that this was a very flat course, but there are a few inclines that could hamper the unwary runner. Still, generally a fast, flat course. Despite the heat and running into a strong breeze in the latter stages managed a new pb by 90 seconds.

In short: Surprisingly scenic
In full: Surprisingly scenic with three or four climbs to test the legs, although there is pb potential if, like me, you're a rapidly improving beginner/intermediate (took three minutes off my pb). One small gripe would be the random dishing out of t-shirts to runners and non-runners alike at the end. The t-shirts are in place of medals and should be for finishing runners only!

In short: Well organised, good course with a slightly isolated second half.
In full: My first marathon and well worth the effort. Good course round the city centre and surrounding area, the only downside being a tough slog into a headwind round the rowing lake. Excellent organisation with plentiful drink stations that supply bottled water and energy drinks/gels. Energy drink tasted truly foul (SIS ready made stuff) but can't blame the organisers for that or the weather!

Goody bag is disappointing with malt loaf being the highlight, but the medal almost makes up for it.

In short: Only one minor hill after about a mile and flat as a pancake afterwards. Well organized - plenty of drinks, apparently accurate mile markers and a flat but picturesque course in the Kent countryside.
