In short: Heatwave-tastic In full: Good, scenic course. Undulating throughout. Couple or three pretty sharp but shortish climbs. 11am start made it very hot. Superbly organised and well-marshalled. And chip timing to boot. Highly recommended.
In short: Good overall, but let down by poor start. In full: An excellent race which could be even better if the overcrowded start in the Market Place was sorted out. Could do with extra marshalls in places and a Championchip timing system would be far better than the one used. Nice t-shirt and medal. Would run Staffs again. Date of review: March 27, 2006
In short: Very good - but could be even better! In full: Definitely a quick course. Absolutely fantastic finish in the Millenium Stadium. The 'grass-crete' in the park is hated by everyone - it has to go!!! Some problems with motorists in non-closed-off streets and with dogs running loose in the park. Some organisational problems with the baggage at the start and also at the finish. Good marshalling, though. Date of review: October 13, 2005
In short: Only it's first year, but a superb race... In full: ...soon to become a *must-do* on the running calendar, I hope. A *massive* thank-you to Helen Kelly and the rest of the organisers for a superb race. Absolutely faultless, in my opinion. Excellent marshalls too, full of encouragement the whole way round. As were the people of Coventry - especially at the finish. A superb day for the city, I think - there was something for everyone, from the kids to the fun runners, to the serious racers. The course is pretty challenging, I thought. Definitely hillier and tougher than both the Windsor and the Watford halves, in my opinion. But the hills kept it interesting :-) and for me the roads were always wide enough to be able to run freely. Not to mention a medal *and* a t-shirt (not of the one-size dwarfs everyone variety) at the finish. Highly recommended! Date of review: September 25, 2005
In short: Dismal race - avoid In full: Great course. Fantastic scenery. Dismal race. Shoddy organisation. Shambolic start. Chaotic finish. Vastly overpriced. Poor value for money. Mediocre tee-shirt. Promised goody-bag non-existent. No chip timing. Someone's making a big pot of cash at runners' expenses! Date of review: July 4, 2005
In short: Good race, which has grown too big for its boots! In full: First Reading 1/2. Good quick course (PB by 8mins+), but hopelessly overcrowded. Need to reduce the number of entries or find a wider start. Shuttle bus system pretty terrible. A later start time, say 11.30am would help. Nice finish in the stadium. Date of review: March 8, 2005
