In short: I'm sure it will suit some people but not me. In full: By far the least favorite of the races I've done. Running round a building site and 'hardcore' paths although sometime they had covered the stone with a metal plate.
Very windy, very boring. Never again. Date of review: March 22, 2010
In short: My first half and I loved it In full: This was my first half marathon, and I really enjoyed it. In fact it made my second "bigger" race a bit of a let down. Bit of a problem at the start with a car trying to push though, and a lack of mile markers wasn't helpful, but the atmosphere was great, and I don't mind narrow streets / paths provided that there aren't too many people on them running in groups, which there weren't. Can't wait for next year! Date of review: October 11, 2009
In short: Not Bad - A few small improvements would make the world of difference In full: The race was well organised, with staggered starts for different estimated finish times, so that the slower runners didn't slow down the faster ones. The only problem with this was that I hadn't completed a race at the time of entry (although I had by the event itself), this meant I got stuck in several narrow streets in the first 1.5 miles behind slow groups running 3 or 4 abreast. My only other suggestion would be to include some kind of chocolate / snack in the goody bag as an energy boost - tea bags and cranberry sauce are great, but unless you brought a kettle or fancy diving in with your fingers it doesn't really help.
