In short: Inaugural race. Great mixture of terrain. Not so well marked in the last three miles.
In full: An enjoyable race with a mixture of entrants. First water station was a bit muddled but not a deal breaker. At all the other stations there were goodies to eat! Quite hilly for a hot day. One for my list of to do again races.

In short: Roads open, keep your wits about you. Hills sneak up on you.
In full: Great contryside. Quite a few people wearing iPods who didn't seem to be aware of what was going on around them particularly as there were cyclists, cars, tractors and other runners about. Not PB potential due to the uphills but I think the downhills must have compensated.

In short: Superb.
In full: The mile markers were puzzling and the total ascent something over 850ft. Longer walk than expected to the start. Everything else was superb. Tough but worth it.

In short: Water stations were well spaced.
In full: Really enjoyed this one - did a PB and I think should have run faster! The organisation was spot on. The water stations were just where they needed to be. Banana and Bar at the end and the medal is pretty hefty too. Milton Keynes does have some nice areas and it's traffic free.

In short: Be Prepared.
In full: I ran this as my first 10k last year and came back to beat my time. It is a hard route especially the 7.5-8.5k section and the heat was hard. Plenty of water but another water station would have been a plus at the 7k mark, I think there was a tap there. I'll be back!

In short: Indded a 'special' race.
In full: A group of us entered as a fun day out - no PB heros on this one. Steep hills, rope assisted climbs, waist deep wadeing, obstacles. Very muddy.
Real good interesting fun, I might never do a road race again.

In short: Lots of seemingly experienced runners, probably due to time of year.
In full: My first 10mile, and the first time I've run 10 miles without stopping to walk! The hills weren't anything like I had expected. A marshal at the back at the start might have prevented the traffic incident the others have mentioned. Mars bar was nice and memento excellent. Next year I will be faster :)
