In short: It must've looked bizarre !
In full: Very enthusiastically organised and marshalled, a marathon built by marathoners. Not the easiest of courses to negotiate, and would be hard to pb if you've done a few, but not every race is a pb attempt. The five laps weren't dull at all as you got the bonus of seeing people going in other directions throughout. Very nice to do a more low key event where you can actually talk to and thank the organisers. Great work guys, well done.

In short: Leicester - A good smaller marathon.
In full: City centre start and finish and some nice little villages through the rest. Not sure about the flat description though, certainly wasn't hilly but there more than a few "undulations", and the last mile and half seemed to be inclined all the way. Nice to have some changing and showering facilities and also the little cafe on the university campus was useful. Made an interesting change to run through a pedestrianised shopping area in the last mile or so, some bemused looks from intent shoppers as runners piled past. Nice smaller marathon with a bit of atmosphere, good marathon for those who dont want to do the huge big city races but want a few people around.
