In short: Nice to have a local marathon but not the most scenic.

In short: Brilliant start to the race season running year
In full: Second time running Haweswater (Last ran it in 2011) and forgot what a lovely friendly race it is. Hilly enough to make it a bit of a challenge and different from other halfs but the scenery is something special. Lovely way to spend a Sunday with the family. Managed to knock near 8 mins off my previous time and 4 off my half PB as well!

In short: Scenic, well organised but challenging race (Especially for beginners)
In full: I really enjoyed the race, despite the torrential rain. Normally used to street running so the hills were challenging and it was a new experience running on trails for me, which I thoroughly enjoyed. Even managed to get round without standing on cow pats! Marshalls were encouraging us round on what was a day with absolutely terrible weather and big thanks to them for that! Love the mug as well. Just a shame about the awful weather today - but will be back again to do it in hopefully glorious sunshine.

In full: Well, it was my first marathon and I thought it was great. Thought the organisation was great, really good support as well.

In short: Great, FRIENDLY race
In full: My first half marathon and a good choice for a first with a great friendly atmosphere. Arrive early to get a decent car park space and use a sat nav as a bit tricky to find. Not massive hills but if you aren't used to hills will provide a bit of a shock at first, but the mainly downhill last 4 miles make it worthwhile!!
