In short: Interesting course, very well-organised and exceptionally friendly
In full: Great organisation and a fab atmosphere with lots of variety along an undulating course.

A footbridge with steps either side and some narrow paths made for some congested sections, so this is one to savour rather than aim for a PB. It's a tad frustrating that some runners didn't slot in behind the person in front as even in the most narrow sections there would have been enough space for an overtaking lane but that's more down to individuals rather than the event.

Will definitely be back, well done and thanks to the organisers and great local support.

In short: Well-organised and friendly chip-timed 10K through rural Kent ... and Dame Kelly!
In full: This really is a gem and it's a shame the dodgy forecast last night probably put off some of the on-the-day entrants as the weather was perfect. Easy car-parking and a short stroll to the picture postcard village green where you got a real sense of this being a local red letter day. Registration, bag deposit and loos were in the village school, with chip registration on the green.

The race started on time and, although a little bunched for the first kilometre, was soon relatively congestion-free. Only a couple of cars were encountered on the lanes and because of the excellent marshalling, these crept along shame-facedly.

It is a pretty undulating course and I struggled to run an even pace but the lovely vibe would more than compensate for beginners. The hill in the final kilometre was pretty steep but thankfully not too long and there was loads of support in the home straight to the finishing line on the village green.

It was a lovely surprise to have local celebrity Dame Kelly Holmes put the medal around my and every runner's neck. She had been mingling happily on the green beforehand and started the race, but to have her award everyone their medal was really special. In fact, she broke away from the presentation to dash over to the finishing line to ensure she was there to present the last few finishers with their medals too.

Kudos to her, the organisers and the Weald villagers for making this such a fantastic event.

In short: Well-organised and a traffic-free scenic route
In full: A thoroughly enjoyable run through the Kentish countryside. I was psyched up for the hill at 7km which was challenging but not a killer.

Kudos to the organisers and countless volunteers- lots of fluorescent tabards made car parking and exiting a breeze!

Now, anyone know where the results are?!
