In short: good course and smashed my PB
In full: Disappointed in fact that paperwork stated we would get print out of our time-that did not happen and still waiting for official results to be posted :( .. the finger chip made my finger numb..
The course was flat, good surface and fast.. smashed my PB by around 5 mins despite the very strong headwind so well chuffed.. I would do it again possibly... just waiting to see if they come through with results as bit of an unorganised feel at finish and left wondering if chip registered.

In short: snowy/icy but fun
In full: The conditions were challenging with all the snow and ice but the course was definately good underneath it all.. some obstacles for taller runners with low bridges etc and I believe a club member hit his head :( well done to all the marshalls who came out in it to keep us all on track and safe. excellent medal and goody bag not bad.. had a funny named energy drink in it though 'pussy' ???

In short: not traffic free completely and bit too flat for me
In full: Organisation good, not all traffic free which was disappointing as not easy to run on footpaths sometimes. Water in cups which again makes it hard to drink and you have to stop. start not that well organised.. starting areas not enforced and faster runners overtaking many slower ones that should have been further back.

In short: perfect weather and a great PB to boot!!
In full: last year was my first half and the hills and weather made it very very hard.. This year after joining a fab running club CPRC and doing the route so many times for training I smashed my Half PB, smashed my time last year and steamed up those hills... Organisation was fantastic. Even the amount of loos excellent! Well done everyone involved in making this a smooth, well planned great race.. Well worth doing and good value especially as they gave away a t shirt this year... well done to all my team mates and well done Basingstoke.

In short: very hot and hilly
In full: excellent organisation aside from the delay due to technical errors.. good marshalling overall and split for 10k and 5k clearly marked and called out by marshalls.
friendly atmosphere.
very hot day but good amount of water stops and sponges so well done there.
surprised still no results for 2012 on the site at 9pm sunday eve..
probably would not do again as very undulating and no real shade if hot so quite hard off road race.

In short: small local event-well run and nice flatish route
In full: as a slower runner did not feel that this was for fast runners only.. excellent organisation and nice atmosphere.. reasonably good amount of portaloos considering low number of runners.. nice finish..
only small gripe is that it was difficult drinking out of the plastic cups while still trying to run ( other half who is much much quicker found this an issue too)
scenery not great but nice flat route with a couple of inclines but not too punishing.. public support was nice too.

In short: Very Hilly but heat made it worse!
In full: having done a fair amount of hill training it just did not prepare me for the hills in this race combined with the unusually high temperatures. It was a struggle but managed to finish! massive thanks to all those people living on route who got out the hosepipes and provided extra water. It was well organised but to really be the basingstoke half marathon it really should have been a route around Basingstoke. Far too many hills to be really enjoyable.
