In short: Great 10 miler with beautiful scenery In full: Only issue I had with the race was the finish line - finishing outside the busy pier on a sunny Sunday lunchtime meant the actual finish line was not very visible and I saw quite a few finishers unsure of where they were aiming for. Either a more obvious finish line/signage is needed for next year or the use of a funnel (or to be honest, just a handful of marshals pointing it out would work). Otherwise I loved this race - beautiful scenery, very friendly marshals and plenty of water stations. Thanks Bournemouth AC. Date of review: March 4, 2016
In short: As always - lovely race In full: Second time running this race - first time it was 32 degrees and sweltering. This time it was windy and rainy but both times I have massively enjoyed the race. Ten miles of beautiful New Forest countryside - mainly good paths. No need for trail shoes and relatively flat. Nice mix of club runners and non-club runners meaning it's beginner friendly as well as club-friendly.
Varied course with some open fields and views of the famous ponies, and some through more woody areas. Always good support throughout the course and in the start/finish field. Year-specific horse brass at the finish line, oodles of parking and plenty of portaloos - what more could you ask for?! Date of review: July 13, 2015
In short: Not a PB race but a nice mix of on and off road In full: I ran this race today and was a bit nervous as it's only small (c200 runners on average) and I saw that it was quite hilly with a mix of off-road. So glad I swallowed my nerves and competed though. I really enjoyed it but it was definitely tougher than others I've done (which have been mainly flat tarmac path races). Not a PB but only two mintes off so am pretty happy with that and the marshalls and race organisers were all very friendly. Plus you get a mug for finishing instead of the normal medal so was a very good feeling to have a cup of tea in it later that afternoon! Date of review: June 24, 2012
