In short: Great, Smashing, Super!
In full: Despite the weathers best efforts to scupper it, the organisers managed to put on a well organised and well supported race.

There was plenty of parking within 5 mins of the start line meaning we could shelter in the warmth of the car!

Minimal queues for the toilets before and after the race but there probably could have been more time markers to help folks line up at the start.

Course was well thought out and very well supported by marshals who remained cheerful despite the fact they were freezing their **** off!

Second others remarks about water in cups. Sometimes it's refreshing to splash some water over your face, not so great when it frosts your cheeks for the next half mile!

Roads at the end were busy but again well marshalled at the junctions and roundabouts and the support in the last stretch (and around the rest of the course) was fantastic.

Slightly puzzled by the "goodie bag", I'm generally not bothered but it's hard not to be disappointed with a fist full of leaflets!

It was my first time and if this is the race the town can put on weather is bad I've just got to come back and see what they can do when it's good!

In short: Ran it, Lived it, LOVED IT!
In full: My first marathon so I don't have much as a point of reference but in some ways that could have made it even harder for the race to live up to the hype!

For a newbie the race pack sent out about a month in advance was phenomenal, answering just about every question I had thought of (and lots I hadn't).

There's already been plenty said about the race and the crowds that I there really is little I can add (but I will never forget the goosebumps on hearing the drums come through the ground in the tunnel).

The T-shirt and medal are superb and representative of the degree of care, thought and attention that has been turned to every detail in this event.

Some may complain it's expensive and maybe it is but for an event that effectively closes much of a city centre, provides THAT exit from the tunnel AND gives you mementos that you will treasure for longer than the drive home I'd say it offers cracking value.

In short: Can you remember your first?
In full: This was my first race in almost 20 years (since I left school)but I knew the area pretty well and support my local club even though I'm not a member, yet!

On arrival everything was easy to find and apart from the scrum in front of the tea & cake tent, pretty straightforward.

I enjoyed the course, the marshals were great and the water stations well placed and whilst I knew I was guaranteed a PB I'm still surprised(and delighted) with the time I posted.

Without anything to compare it to I'm sure there is room for improvement but I've been bitten by the bug and am looking forward to next years race!
