In short: Why no water at the end?!
In full: I was very disappointed not to have water at the end, especially since I didn't pick up a bottle during the first lap, imagining there would be more later on! This is very poor on the part of the organisers. I also found some of the marshalls to be very fed-up looking and one girl stood behind a tree, she did point in the right direction though!

Oddly, I'd do it again, even with its failings! It was fairly hilly in places, so a nice challenge and local to me, so a good option.

Sort it out for next year organisers!

In short: Hilly but really great atmosphere.
In full: It was hilly (three laps with a hill at the start and finish) and windy and I had a stinking cold, but still managed two minutes away from my PB for five miles. I would definitely do it again next year. Oh, and a great t-shirt that I would wear out and about instead of just for decorating - they offer you a choice of sizes :)

In short: So friendly and uplifting and the laps help rather than hinder!
In full: This was my first time at this race and I will definitely be signing up for next year. The organisers and marshals are all so friendly and supportive and you even get a very useful food goody bag at the end, just what you need after a half! Today was incredibly hot so no PB for me, but it definitely had PB potential, I found the laps useful rather than challenging.

A lovely race!

In short: I'm melting!
In full: My first marathon and the first time I've run in heat like that! I was doing well for my hoped-for time in the first ten miles but it was down hill from there (or rather up hill!). I didn't cope too well with the heat and drank so much that I got a killer stitch and cramp.

I agree about the odd flavours of energy drinks-small but significant if you have a sensitive tummy.

The crowds were excellent (but it hurt in places where there was no support). The people of Edinburgh are lovely and the city is stunning. Writing my name on my top was a good idea: I felt famous!

Well attended by forumites and I even got to meet a few...what great support they have given in the past few months.

In short: Lovely, friendly atmosphere!
In full: I did this to see how I was getting on, to challenge myself to see how fast I could run it (unfortunately I was two whole minutes slower than my goal!) My first time at this race and I found it friendly and well organised and definitely want to try and do it every month. Great!
