In short: An excellent race for all abilities In full: I was pleasantly surprised with this race. I did not know what to expect when I cycled up from South London to the Lee Valley. What I found was great organisation, a pretty run widing along paths through the marsh land, space to run, chip timing, a fast course (I got a PB) and lots of happy marshals.
A really great race. Date of review: May 20, 2012

In short: More pros than cons make for a good race In full: Pros - Nice route through mostly traffic free roads - Well marshalled - Very friendly - Good value
Cons - Car park too small. I got to the designated car park at 8:40 and got the last parking spot. I saw so many other runners driving round and round getting very frustrated. I don't know where they parked in the end. Some parked outside designated bays and got tickets. - Need more toilets. Yes, I know there are never enough but I wandered round and around with several other people. We eventually found one with a broken door and had to ration the loo paper to a couple of sheets each. I then had to leg it to the start. Date of review: January 22, 2012

In short: Cheap, simple race In full: A well organised simple race around 3 laps of Regent's Park. A pretty flat course meas PB potential is high. A good mix of runners means the race thins out quickly.
I would like to thank the organisers. I ran to the race and got a little lost so arrived with less than 10 minutes to go. I had to pick up my race number and they were very helpful. Cheers. Date of review: January 8, 2012

In short: A brilliant race In full: I'm not sure how the organiser does it. To get changing facilities, a brilliant course, loads of great, happy marshalls, lots of water stations, jelly babies, a cool medal, a technical T with my name on it, a beer, jaffa cakes and a carrot for £25 is just stunning.
One marshall did send some people the wrong way but it is the first year of the race so there is bound to be one or two teething problems.
Overall, a first class race. Date of review: November 27, 2011

In short: Still not happy with the route but organisation is excellent In full: Ran Brighton Marathon again. They have improved in almost all areas. It ran like clockwork. BUT I still have a huge issue with the power station. There must be way of avoid it. It is so soul destroying at mile 21. To continue along Church Road or something must be possible.
