In short: Good Race but has some faults............
In full: 2011 race 6th MARCH 2011. Great race as usual but did not understand why we were held at the start until nearly 12.15 for the 12 noon start after lining up from 11.15????? Plus - car park marshalls when people are leaving the circuit need to do something rather than stand and chat. Runners and their supporters were massing on a few exits with the usual chaos but no organisation ensued. The volunteers around the circuit were great and must have been frozen in the usual icy wind typical of Silverstone in March but the supporters were very quiet and unsupporting generally.... what a way to spend my 46th birthday but I did my fastest half and beat many runners who were much younger than me including Katie Price - a real ego boost......

In short: Well Done Bedford Harriers - an excellent race
In full: Thanks to the organisers for a very well organised race. Thanks also to the Marshalls and Cadets who manned the water stations and kept me amused and smiling right through my run. Hills have made me ache so I feel as though I have had a good work out.

In short: 2008 race: Bloke with the blue baseball cap
In full: Well done Purple Patch - great race. Thanks to the guy with the blue baseball cap who was so encouraging!! Nice to see spectators turning up on a run like this and cheering us on.

In short: Well done to Purple Patch another excellent 1/2
In full: Ran this last year and returned again!! Thanks to all the Marshalls and Organisers for a great event. After 2 half marathons on successive weekends I was feeling tired and words of encouragement from my watching hubbie and the marshalls spurred me on to a reasonable time. I have brought most of the tow path home on my legs and running shoes but I am not deterred - see you again next year.

In short: 2008 race :Poor organisation at the start but otherwise ok.
In full: In spite of the appearance of oodles of people involved in organisation, the issuing of numbers and chips was ridiculous leading to the run being delayed by 15 mins. I note other runners comments but I arrive 1hr and 30 mins before the start and there was already a lengthy queue!!Those queueing for numbers etc. then traipsed over to the Baggage Drop Off and then queued there..... When the race finally kicked off the marshalls were excellent and very encouraging. I apologise to the one who asked me if I was OK several times. I was struggling with an injured foot and had my IPOD on full blast to try and distract me - thank you for trying to help but I limped round in the end. Goodie Bag was good value -good T Shirt and medal too!! Try sending numbers and chips out rather than saving money by having a small ineffective collection - unless you can process 900 runners more quickly!!!!

In short: Well done for the excellent organisation!!
In full: Rain did not dampen the spirits of the 600 or so runners taking part. The band under the bridge played us off and greeted us again on our return. Big thanks to the superb marshalls who gave lots of encouragement and support standing in the rain. Great goody bag for the 25th anniversary added to the event. I will be back again next year.

In short: Weather made this a good but challenging run
In full: Thanks to most of the Marshalls who were supportive and helpful. The starter claimed that anyone running with an Ipod would be disqualified - shame no-one mentioned that when they gave out the running numbers as most of us with Ipods were 3/4 mile from our belongings!!! Other than the starter, excellent organisation made this a worthy run and the undulations broke the monotony of some of the very long straights.

In short: well organised and friendly
In full: Thanks to all the marshalls and organisers - your enthusiasm was very encouraging!! I run with my own drink as a matter of course but the warm windy day fuelled my thirst so I felt sorry for those who had to wait until 6km for a drink. I will be back next year to better my run up the hills!!

In short: Thank you for a great morning's run!!
In full: First 3-4 miles were a bit slow and difficult to overtake but they did not spoil the day. Not a PB for me today but quicker than my most recent 1/2 marathons so I came away satisfied. Another great medal, T shirt, fruit bar and bottle of water at the end - then a banana!! I was juggling goddies and could have done with a carrier bag....Limited support around the circuit but lots at the end so thanks to all those who supported us slower runners. I will be back for a 3rd year next year. Thanks to the Marshals and Organisers - great event.
