In short: Really good.
In full: Top race. If you're doing a Spring marathon, or even if you're not, Ashby needs to be in the diary. Great praise again to the marshalls who stood out in the rain, sleet and snow and provided such enthusiastic encouragement.

In short: Good but expensive
In full: Second time I've done this and enjoyed the day again. Probably the fastest half-marathon course I've run and another PB confirmed that. Fantastic support and really good atmosphere. Pretty expensive for a half.

In short: Great race, highly recommended
In full: Third time and I think it gets better. Mud instead of red hot temperatures this year and that made for a different sort of challenge. If you get a PB in this race you're running really well. Thanks to the marshalls and all the other competitors for making it another great day. And to the supporters on the bridges in Brindley Place for cheering everyone in.

In short: Excellent
In full: My first time at Bath. Really enjoyed it and very impressed with the organisation. Many thanks to all the marshalls. Really fast course which helped my time no end. One of the few out and back courses where it felt like there were more downhills than up. Definitely one to put in the calendar for next year.

In short: Great way to spend Sunday morning.
In full: First time at this race and very impressed. Organisation was good. Friendly atmosphere and good support. Only one real hill on the course, Durley Chine, and that was short and sharp and compensated for by the more gradual downhill of Alum Chine. Agreed that the 2-mile marker was a long way out and I looked for the 12-mile marker in vain. Perfect weather helped me to a PB. I suspect that it would have been more difficult if the forecast wind and rain had arrived. Good value although personally I would prefer the organisers to dispense with the medal and spend the money saved on bottled water. I can't run and drink out of those plastic cups!

In short: Awesome
In full: First time at this marathon and very impressed. Well documented bus problems only blemish really and prepared to give organisers the benefit of the doubt. Hope however they take on board the issue and consider how big they can let this event become before logistic problems start to occur.

From my perspective everything else was spot on. Friendly atmosphere amongst the runners, great support in the villages and of course that scenery. Also superb and supportive marshalling and more than adequate drink stations. And then add in the perfect weather and my first sub-4 hour marathon on what is a fairly challenging course!

3 October 2010 is already in the diary.

In short: Beautiful event
In full: First time in Burnham Beeches. Challenging course but beautiful setting with impeccable organisation and superb, friendly marshalls. A bit on the warm side to say the least. Unexpected for England in August. Nice medal I thought. 200-mile round trip for me but one I'll definitely be making again next year.

In short: Excellent day, friendly people.
In full: First time at this event and will definitely repeat. Organised and friendly. Basically flat but surprisingly testing. Probably my own fault for starting too quickly.

If I was very picky I think the bag recovery could have been a bit better organised.

Overall though very impressive.

In short: A great way to spend Saturday evening.

In short: A privilege to be there.
In full: 5th FLM and a PB despite weather. Almost perfect and I suspect that the minor irritation of slow moving runners too far forward at the start is insoluble if people continue to insist on putting unachievable times on their entries. Otherwise, a totally awesome event. Total organisation brilliant. GNR people need to look and learn especially in baggage handling. Crowds this year were spectacular and inspiring for a middle-aged bloke from the Black Country down in the big city. Thanks to everyone involved.
