In short: Running In A Christmas Card...err but isn't it nearly Easter!
In full: As we were running up and the branches of the trees glistened with snow someone made the comment they thought they had just stepped into Narnia. Although my fingers were frozen and painful despite gloves, with hand warmers inside, the beautiful scenery and wonderful camaraderie with the rest of my fellow runners, and the marshalls lifted your spirits away from the mud, wind and cold. As ever with Trionium events they are tough, and gruelling but about the best in the business for making you smile and have fun despite Dr Rob being a fiend in finding he hardest routes in Surrey. A huge thank you to the marshalls for your support and encouragement and Dr Rob's band of merry helpers who make it all happen very much appreciated you are the real heroes standing around in the cold and wind. Dr Rob as ever a big thank you and look forward to seeing you on Box Hill in June and the steps of doom!!

In short: Watersplash Finale
In full: If there is a competition for the muddiest race in the Surrey Hills for 2013 then RTL have certainly put a strong bid in early in the year. Crikey that was a toughie and a PW to boot! Talking of boots did like the finale of a boot wash, shame I could not feel my feet afterwards - boy was that water cold. Thanks for a splendid morning's romp. Well done to Alan, Nicky and wonderfully cheery marshalls, greatly appreciate all the hard work - you are a great team and I will look forward to future ETL events

In short: Oh what a sense of achievment!
In full: Someone said that when walking/running in thick mud think of it like chocolate cake and then it seems much nicer! Not sure I can quite buy into that one but it was a distracting thought as us band of merry (and despite the terrain and weather we were a merry lot)sloshed and slurped and slipped through the mud, hills, tree roots and anything else the Surrey Hills could throw at us. We battled forth and won! Oh it hurt, oh it was fun and coming through the finishing straight to the whoops and clapping was one of those truly wonderful moments. Thank you as ever to Dr Rob and the wonderful Trionium marshals and team. The sheer zeal and the atmosphere you always garner at all your races and then the goodies at the end make your races the best and stand out from the rest. Thank you and I look forward to seeing you all on the Surrey Hills again.

In short: Smiling on a Soggy Sunday
In full: Great organisation and fab course. Best marshalls in the business and a great trail 10km. Wonderful camaraderie with the other runners, supporters and marshalls. One of my fav races of the year and even with the cold and rain put a smile on my face. As ever love the little fun extras you get with Dr Rob's races. Many thanks to Dr Rob and all his team, very much appreciated.

In short: ETL's Finest Yet!
In full: In 2010 I did this race and it was a much smaller but still a fun race. Last year I did the Marathon du Medoc from which the idea of the Bacchus/Denbies race comes from and that was one of my all time fav races but this year at the Bacchus ETL ramped it up into a fun fiesta and the Medoc had better watch out! I had a blast in the sun - slick organisation, great fun marshalls, wonderful scenery and a great medal. I too like the touch of Alan shaking our hands as we finished and everyone in their costumes shone brightly in the sun. The camaraderie with the runners, marshalls and supporters spurred us all on over the hills, and the strongest beverage to pass my lips was good old water. I am still smiling and I will look forward to doing it all over again. Thank you to Alan, Nicky and all their team.

In short: Up, up, up...down, down, down... up, up up...
In full: This is one of the cleverest designed routes I have ever run. The constant criss crossing is amazing and for that alone Ralph Henley deserves an award for designing the route. As to the terrain a wonderful galumph through the Surrey hills on a sunny Sunday morning. Some great views and lovely woodlands. Boggy for sure in places and darned tricky hills and climbs but oh so rewarding. The long last climb from miles 11 and 12 is a real test of stamina towards the end of a hard race. Great manning of the water stations and superb marshalling and all good fun. Thank you I will be back and next year do arrange for the same weather please as I am a very happy Surrey Slogger in the sun and oh so pleased not to see rain and grey clouds.

In short: Up, up, up...down, down, down... up, up up...
In full: I was very worried this was going to be way too much for me (I am no spring chicken). I had done the MM a couple of years ago and thought it the toughest race I had ever done and then to add more miles was cruel. It wasn't until the turn about point I thought I might, just might, make it. It is doing the steps and stepping stones on the return that is the killer, but then oh that run to the finish line was one of the most glorious moments ever! This is the toughest terrain but the glow of triumph made it (just) worthwhile. You do the best finishers goodies and knowing they await me if I can keep going to the finish line helped spur me on. To my fellow hardy runners thank you for being so good humoured and encouraging and the band of merry marshalls for your support. To Dr Rob and all the Trionium team thank you, but please don't do it again the usual MM is quite hard enough. After the Trionium runners have thoroughly tested the course for the cyclists over to Mark Cavendish et al to try and earn their own medals for conquering the mighty Box Hill!

In short: Great Fun In The Sun
In full: A great fun race from start to finish. Brilliantly smooth organisation, and wonderfully encouraging marshalls. A hard trail race but in a great location and so lovely to run in the sun. Left me happy and buzzing all day, thank you to the ETL team and the camaraderie of the fellow runners.

In short: Mud, mud, glorious mud
In full: A true Trionium triumph, from the fun watching the Wife Carrying Race, to the stunning scenery and then the wonderful Trionium touches that make all their races so special. They really do have the best marshalls in the business. A very hard race but oh so rewarding, but next year please can you arrange for it to be less muddy as there were times it seemed more like bog snorkelling! Very many thanks to Dr Rob and all his team.

In short: A Brilliant Start to 2012!
In full: Rob, and all his helpers - thank you. A great way to start the year. Huge fun, a great challenge but a massive grin for both conquering the Knacker Cracker and for such a fun event. Then a wonderful surprise when I just went to make a cup of coffee in my mug to find it heat reactive - superb! I love the t-shirt and medal too - knackered and just off to pull the final cracker of the festive season! Another Trionium Triumph - thanks again to all the team.
