In short: Northerners know best In full: Class race, class organisation, hats off to the RAF boys. Anyone moaning about the slight uphill bits in the first couple of miles needs to get a grip!! There was about 6 miles of downhills after that!! Great race, definite PB potential, and us northerners show these lot down south how to put on a race, forget your London this and that, Warrington, September 2014 is where you want to be. In short: Loved it!! converted trail runner. In full: Really enjoyed this race, scenery was fantastic. Tough hills and footing in parts was a bit suspect, but all made for a really enjoyable race. Much better than an on road half, i have been converted! Date of review: February 18, 2013
In short: Well done for getting it on!! In full: The steak pie after was a right treat!!! Well worth the drive up for this race. Went ahead despite the weather so well done for getting started. Course was fairly flat but the bitterly cold wind at the end was harsh! Will definitely do this again. Date of review: January 23, 2013
In short: Loved this race! In full: Will be back next year. Love this type of half marathon. Easy for parking, nice scenerey, some hills mixed in, and not massive crowds!! Great race. Date of review: October 8, 2012
In short: Needs chip timing and loud speaker at start In full: Could'nt hear a word the announcer was saying at the start. Did'nt know where the start line was to start my watch, definately needs chip timing next year. I think the medals were won on one of the fairground stalls. Course a bit boring as well to be honest. Not one for me again. Date of review: September 12, 2012
In short: Breath-taking scenery, breath-taking hill!! In full: What a place to do a half marathon. Not very often do you get chance to run with such scenery all around you. Organisation was superb, marshalls were great, the downhill part, along the lake and eventually to the finish is out of this world. However beware, there is an almighty hill to over come about 6 miles in, and wow it hurt!!
PB out of the window when i saw that.
I will definately be doing this again next year, loved it!
One very minor thing though, could you start it a tad earluer next year? i missed seeing my team the toon destroy Liverpool!! Date of review: April 3, 2012
