In short: Nice friendly countryside run
In full: Good HQ with pavillion to keep out of the chill pre run. Good toilet facilities. Very well marshalled round the whole course which took in some nice country lanes with some gentle undulations to keep things challenging. The roads were "live" but there wasn`t much traffic. Hot drinks and cakes at the HQ were a nice touch. Thanks Portsmouth Joggers, another quality event.

In short: Very pleasant seaside race, suitable for both club runners and fun/charity runners alike. Nice friendly organisation at start/finish area and decent goody bag.
In full: This event is local to me so very easy to get to. Parking is free and easy to find. Toilet facilities at the start were not great, (I do know how much it costs to hire portaloos from being involved with cycle race organisation myself, so I fully appreciate why having more would eat into the event funds meaning less money for the RNLI, so perfectly understandable)
Course mostly along wide promenade so easy to follow but sometimes having to zig zag round pedestrians could be a little frustrating. I did the eight mile event and did find some of the signage a little small and difficult to see until the last moment, (Not a problem for me as I`m local and had a pretty good idea where we would be going). Very impressed at finish where as I crossed the line somebody asked me my age category then told me I had a third place in category award which was given to me there and then, nice touch and very slick that!
Overall a lovely event which I`ll do again.

In short: Lovely friendly race, well organised, interesting course, easy to park with a Town centre start and finish
In full: This was my second Bayer 10km and the organisation, marshaling etc were just as good as last year. I really like the atmosphere in the Town Square where the start/finish is located. Running the last 300m through the shopping area into a waiting crowd in the square gives you a "Big Event" sort of feeling. The event has a nice interesting course although runners should be aware that some of the trails are pretty rough and uneven and could catch out the unwary. It`s very important to start in your correct time zone on this one as there are a lot of areas that are very difficult to pass slower runners. Will definitely be coming back for this one.

In short: Shame about the distance error but a great day just the same
In full: Well documented error on the race distance which has obviously marred the event for many runners. I feel sorry for them if they were on for a PB or if it was their first/last half marathon. However, for those of us that just enjoy the run for a "Day out" it was a great event. From the park and ride, to the lovely sea view course and fantastic supportive crowd I thouroughly enjoyed the day.
My negative is really the general state of the road surface in the "town" section of the course which is a reflection of the Council rather than the race organiser. Would I do it again? I`ll have to, just to see what I could have done! ;-)

In short: Well organised. Easy parking. Town centre start & finish. Mixed terrain
In full: Nice to start and finish in town shopping centre with a good crowd of spectators. A nice mix of running surfaces and gradients keeps things interesting. A bit difficult to pass other runners in some areas, although I had already read this prior to entering and I could have easily moved up nearer to the start line had I wanted to. Well marshalled and friendly race.

In short: Really enjoyed it. My first smallish event, I`ve only done the Great south run before, but didn`t feel out on a limb from the club runners.
