In short: All good
In full: As the previous reviewer said, all races should start on time. It didn't start drastically late but a pain when it happens. Good scenery, good support from marshals and public. Quite a lot of shingle track but I managed a PB by 2 minutes.

In short: Could be so much better
In full: Quite a small field of runners so plenty of space to overtake, or in my case, be overtaken. The scenery was very good and the variety of track (Shingle, wood, tar and grass) was good. It is also good value for money.
Now for the frustrating bits which if rectified would make for a much better race.
Parking - £5.50 ... £7.50 if over 2 hours. Not the organisers fault but nearly the same cost as race entry which cant be right. It does make you run quicker to avoid the higher charge though.
Only one of the marshals on the course showed any sort of encouragement. Very little clapping or words of encouragement except the guy in the forest where their is a left turn.
No distance markers at all. Surely its not difficult to put a few of these out.
I believe this was in aid of the youth marching band - where were they? Music is a motivator so I expected them to be playing somewhere on the course or towards the end. I would have even put a few quid in a collection tin if they were entertaining.
The medal - unlike the other reviewer I do these races for medals as I won very little throughout my school years! Why no ribbon on the medal, I like to walk back to the car after a race looking like Mr T but this medal had to go straight in the pocket.
Its a lovely race to do but could be so much better and would attract more runners if some of the above could be resolved. If its your first time doing this race then its worth doing for the course.

In short: A very British run
In full: A lovely well organised race in a very friendly village (I have not been to another race where there is a cake raffle at the start). No queues for registration or toilets like at many of the more "professional" runs. The scenery was spectacular and odd in places (running through a cattle sheds with some very bemused cows and passing a wonderful disused railway). Quite a bit hilly up to around 6k but then flat/downhill all the way after that. The motivational signs around the course were brilliant in their humour; very nice touch. Thank you to all those that made this race happen; I cant wait for next year.

In short: Great location
In full: It was a nice touch having bananas before the race however there are a few things that could have been better. There was a real lack of toilets and the pubs facilities couldnt cope. Some portaloos would be good next year. Also the first section of the race is quite tight so its tricky to over take. Perhaps starting the race on a different part of the course would help with this, and the toilet situation. There wasn't any water at the end of the race (that I could find). Not sure if this was in the goody bags that were stolen along side the medals though.
Lovely area though and feel sorry for the organisers having things stolen prior to the race.

In short: Very well organised
In full: A very well organised race with loads of happy and encouraging marshalls. As other people have said; plenty of loos - how it should be - other race organisers take note.
Loads of people at the finish line to hand out medals, bananas, chocolate, capris sun and water. My only gripe is that a marshall sent me to the high street to park when there was plenty of room in the car park opposite. Would definately do it again. Well done all involved.

In short: Well organised and friendly
In full: I dont usually go for the organised pre race warm ups but this one was very good ... well done Rocky. An inspiring speach from Bob Wilson and a beautiful course. 1 slight hill but a pretty fast course and managed a PB. The drummers at the begining and end were a big help. The vegi hot dogs available pre run also helped!! As someone else mentioned, seeing the finish line and then having to run up hill and on grass, whilst backing up on yourself to reach it was a bit disheartening but the crowd is their to chear you through it.
Very friendly, informative Marshalls. Great race. Thanks to all involved.

In short: Wow ... nice houses!!
In full: This was the first time doing this race and I managed to get my 10k PB. The hill is fairly tough but there is a great opportunity to make up time going down hill. The houses and Moor park area is fantastic. My only critism is the signage to the race. Once inside the Moor Park estate, although I could see the KM markers, I couldnt find the start point and had to drive around for a while.

In short: Great race, great guys
In full: This was the 2nd time doing the race and the organisation was much better with no queues before the race. Lessons had been learnt from their first race last year although more toilets would be good.
Unfortunately approx 1 mile from the end it wasnt clear which path to take which meant that a few of us ended up going across a field instead of taking the tarmac road (i can only think a marshall had left his point for some reason).
What makes this race so enjoyable is the enthusiasm by the regiment fitness guys. You can see they are keen for you to do well.
Its a hard race and the hill is a killer but its well worth doing.
