In full: My first and I'm surprised to say not my last marathon what an absolutely amazing experience the crowds were awesome

I was also on the blue start and dropped myself back to pen 9 as I had been sick in the preceding weeks and didn't get any of the bottleneck others have mentioned I definitely took it easier than planned and listened to my body I had planned it to be my one and only marathon and just wanted to get round under my own steam. I was so hungry at mile 9 and thankful for spectators handing out fruit and biscuits an even during the torrential downpours still the spectators stayed out that last mile was the easiest of the day with all the support

As a larger chested lady the tshirt is comfortable gym/lounging wear but I didn't do it for the tshirt its just a bonus

From a person attending on their own to their first marathon I thought the organisation was good just a bit miffed at the kids who joined the race for quite a while (apparently it was the quickest way to Asda) claiming water at stations
and no marshals attempting to stop them oh and I may have been slower than many but still needed a changing area after wandering aimlessly following the sign at the top of the stairs a few of us were kindly turned around by one of the charity's and then informed by St Johns that the sign to the underground carpark had been removed an hour or so earlier!

Nothing though could dampen my spirit for the day little personal niggles were completely overshadowed by the overwhelming support and the unbelievable sense of achievement will I be back? I really hope I am lucky enough to have the chance to run again

In full: Marshalls were superb across the whole course

Bottled water at stations would be a great improvement as given the heat I would have appreciated being able to sip water for longer periods than just at the water stations

Disappointing that there were no goody bags at the end of the race - you know how many are registered and with nearly 50 DNF how can you run out? Oh and it would have been nice to be offered an energy drink at the end there were enough 'staff' enjoying them

Minor disappointments from a slower runner but overall it was a lovely race on a fabulous day

In full: My first half so nowt to compare it to as yet not as flat as I expected with the monotony of the dual carriageway and the narrow path in the last mile was a bit frustrating to dodge walkers and public walking the other way otherwise I really enjoyed there are never enough toilets at any race but knowing where the other sets of them would have helped with the queues

Not sure I will be back for the price I expected a bit more from the goody bag and there were only xl tshirts left and I was by no means near the back

In short: Wow despite the wind a nice fast course and a really good atmosphere all the way round
In full: Bit of a trek between the parking, the t-shirt collection point and the start but considering how many taking part it wasn't too bad

Toilets were a bit of a problem couldn't cope with demand and some of the leisure centre staff saying that that they never normally deal with so many people?!

Apart from that, for me it was the biggest race ive run and great to see everyone bobbing about ahead, i'm not quick so stayed right back but was dodging to get past alot of people early on hope it didnt affect too many people wanting a good start, tbh for me the finish was more of a problem nearly tripping over loose children on the final corner and dodging people with pushchairs on the final straight

Btw hope the chap that was on the ground a couple hundred meters into the race is ok
