well impressive. you must have been roasting in the suit. 7k was warm enough without a half marathon. I didnt machine wash my suit. its just getting a bit of an airing before it gets packed away ready for the next daft idea that comes along. I am doing the abingdon marathon in oct-FURLESS though, jusy boring old vest and shorts.
well done for taking part in the first place. The time doesnt matter one bit. I did it for the first time this year. Absolutely mad. Awesome. Hope to do it again next year. As I write this my suit is on the line drying out! (alongside my fancy dress kilt) the highlight for me was the look on the tourists faces as they drove past on the open top buses. bring on 2006
havent done this one before but the way I understand it the £400 is a target they would like you to raise rather than a compulsory sum. My plan is to get what I can in sponsorship without aiming for an exact target.Obviously the more the better for the cause, but enjoying the day and mixing with the other primates is what I am looking forward to. Having said that, feedback from people I have asked is very good so I expect to get a fair amount of sponsorship.
I definately intend having a dress rehearsal. Theres a nice tourist spot not too far from me on the canal with some steep locks. Gets busy at weekends so thats when Ill try it. Mind you I will take a "keeper" along for protection in case someone doesnt see the funny side and tries to throw me in the water!
Great weekend of events in nice sorroundings, despite being a wee bit on the warm side. Looking forward to next year. Cant beleive I just said that, suprising how quickly you forget the pain! Hope Damian Carr makes a speedy recovery.
