First time poster, glad I found this thread. I ran Comrades this year and just scraped a Bill Rowan, it nearly destroyed me, but I loved it. Going back for the back to back next year (hopefully!) and my first down run. I nabbed my qualifier at Berlin in September with a 2:56. Wil start serious Comrades training in the New Year. To all first timers - you are in for a great experience!
I have entered Berlin along with a couple of amtes and we haven't booked any accomodation yet...We are resigned to paying top dollar, but can anyone advise us on the best area to stay - do you have to be close to the start / finish etc? none of our group have ever been to Berlin, so we have no clue...
I have just returned to running after a three year break. I live in Bramhope, North Leeds. I have just started training for the FLM - aiming for 3.15. Can anyone recommend a good friendly running club in my area or is anyone interested in meeting up for training runs on Sunday mornings etc? I am a 37 y.o. bloke
I have run this one a few times, but not for a year or so. I think the route is from Allders, up Leeds and Bradford Road, down the hill through Rodley, Up the ring road to Horsforth (A tough climb) then a gentle descent along Abbey road to the finish in the grounds of Kirkstall Abbey. As you can see its quite a tough course with two major hills to go up, so you won't see any really quick times.
I'm sure you can enter on the day, I intend to, I guess entries will be taken at the Leisure Centre.
