&Well, what can I say, third time at the event and my worst performance which was particularly hard to take considering I felt pretty confident going in, had done plenty of training and thought this was going to be my year.

Hit halfway on a PB and then it all went wrong with cramps, I've have never had them so bad, I normally get them around the final steps but they started after coming down white hill & just got worse & worse. I would like to thank every runner who offered to help and gave support, there was a lot of them & especially the two runners who had a leg each and stretched me out after the final steps, the pain was horrendous.

Glad to complete the course and really suffering today, the worst of this is I am already planning next years strategy.

This is still my favourite event and huge thanks to Rob for putting this on, I still think he's a sick twisted sadist and am having thoughts of inflicting extreme violence on his person but unfortunately will be back for more.

Just to let anyone know, who hasn't done this, Dr Rob is a sick twisted sadist who revels in the looks of agony on the poor pained souls who cross the line at the end.

This is my third & we have been going up there for the last few weeks on a Sat morning to get "step ready". There are also a couple of horrible climbs on really uneven ground that really drain your legs as its very hard to get a good rhythm going.

It is a great race and a real sense of achievement on completion. My advice to anyone is to try & visit the place beforehand just to mentally prepare yourself.

BRM wrote

"t was the Garmin of Nosher "Show me a hill and I'll get my friends to run up it" Miles that produced the figure of 4,000' ascent, published immediately by The Good Doctor in his email and blatantly contradicting the course profile on his own Munro website, which documents 3,000' of ascent. "

Firstly, I would like to state for the record that I have never, ever forced BRM to run up any hills by casting spurious claims about his manliness, its all lies I tell you, all lies.

I have to admit that I was rather confused about the readings we had on a run through a few weeks ago, hence my email to the good doctor, him of the patriotic shorts, and we are still not sure regarding the actual total ascent as there seems to be a few discrepancies between people with garmins, I can only go with what mine read and it gave me the figures I quoted. All I can say is that it didn't lose its signal throughout the whole run & had a 20ft discrepancy between total ascent & descent over the distance which isn't bad.

I don't know the actual answer but telling all of my friends that it was harder than stated works for me

Nosher" BRM is going to understand the meaning of pain & sufferance next time I take him out" Miles

Well done to everyone for finishing yesterday, I have four blisters on my feet including a beaut on my ankle.

I love this race, the camaraderie is second to none, I was back & forring (??) with a few people, James, Tim and I didn't get the third guys name, He has done it the last couple of years and gave me a good push at the top of white Hill on the way back, Thankyou.

Had the most horrendous leg cramps on the way back to the trig point & from then on and ending up doing a sort of straight leg shuffle at the end

Thanks to Rob & all of the marshalls for a great day, especially to BRM who was the guy by the snowman giving wonderful support to evryone.

We would be interested in another one of your crazy ideas Rob, just don't do it the same time as Marlow or the Hellrunner

Salute!
