Grah - there did used to be a 12 race as well as a 20, but I think the 12 got pulled due to some building work on some of the route and never started again. Plus I think now the 20 is popular the extra runners aren't needed. I've marshalled the race before but never run it, and am planning to in 2009. |

| Just entered this. I probably won't be finishing within a few places of Brooks like usual though as this is my first race back after tearing my ankle ligaments! |

Evening all. LMH - did you decide against NV10 today? Probably a good job with the wind like it was, probably wouldn't have been great for a quick time. MPW - how have you got on? Marathon training started this weekend. My usual 10 min run was increased, went out for 4 miles (35 mins) yesterday which felt quite good. Ankle was no problem while running but felt a bit sore when I finished and swelled up a bit. Got up this morning and was going to go out and do the same 4 miles, and even though it was tough with the headwind I extended the run and did just over 6 miles (bit slow 55 mins). Ankle feels pretty much the same as yesterday after the run. But I get the feeling as long as I don't go over on my ankle (or get dodgy shins from not being able to go off road, and running on the hard stuff all the time) then I'll be able to manage FLM. How has everyone else been? |

| I've not got the will power to defer LMH! As I'm in I feel like I have to at least try. If I realise after training for a few months that I won't be able to make it I will defer. |

Hello all! Hope everyone is well Sorry to be a stranger, but as you can guess I've not had a lot to talk about with running, plus I've been given more to do at work so things have got a bit busy!! I am back running, but have only managed going out for up to 10 mins at a time, so far my ankle has held up ok, so I'm hopeful the recovery will continue as normal. It better do anyway, I got my FLM acceptance letter today!! Didn't expect or really want to get in for 2008, I only entered this year so it would count towards my 5 rejections (as I know I'd want to do it in 2009/2010!). I guess I'll just have to get to the distance and not worry about getting a good time, because ideally I'd want more than 4.5 months to get from scratch to marathon!! Whats been happening with everyone? |
