ran quite well scar runner, after not leaving zanzibars until 2.30am and not getting home until 4.30am (lets just say i was otherwise engaged)
still i made sure i hydrated well for the race, 7 pints of fosters and 5 coronas.
arrived at the fell race complete with dark glasses and lucozade.
managed to get round in 33.36 for 5 miles to finish 11th place, you wont find that pre race preparation in any of the manuals and i wouldnt recommend it.
still ive done some great runs after nites on the beer.
And the nurse that i was talking to had heard and knew about fellrunning ( bonus)

+ learn to use a compass and get a few maps and get confident in using them. FRA run navigation courses which im told are excellent value.

claire welcome to the wonderfull world of fell running, def recommend joining fra, also go over to the fell running thread where you will find all the usual culprits that have posted on here and more. Dont try to long a fell race at first, like fell running says there are loads to choose from but you will prob need a decent pair of fell shoes to run in. Get some then try them a few times before racing in them.
Good ones are walsh, adidas, innov 8 etc.
try www.pete bland sports on the internet.
Good luck and see u on the fell running site
