Brilliant event. Thoroughly enjoyed variety in route. Very well marshalled. Great to start and finish in town centre - especially for people coming from out of town by train. Very unintimidating welcoming event for first timers, but also great for club runners too. Well done Rob!!! They should put you on the flier for next year. Stockport should brand itself as a 'Running town' as there's so much going on for runners (not to mention 4 parkruns!) Hope the Big Event series (walk and cycle too) grows and grows. Well done LifeLeisure and Stockport Council

Recently been spending time on my knees at work (Primary teacher) and have developed problems as a consequence. Now, I experience discomfort when kneeling. Had it checked out by physio and he says there is no evidence of any problem, muscular or skeletal. Hasn`t affected running but have been unable to do significant gym work.
Love to hear from anyone who can shed light on this mystery injury.

Are there any qualified nutritionists or dieticians out there who could advise on the best snack to have before a 5k? I suggetsed to our local 5k organiser that by having a mass-banana- munch-in before the race it would help promote the 5 a day (fruit and veg) message and would attract abit of media attention. But his reply was that nutritionally, chocolate or something more sugary would be better.... But I was under the impression that a banana would sustain you for half an hour, and that choc would not be as good from a Glycaemic Index point of view because of the fat content. (It would be better I know to give fruit in the goody bag at the end - like they did at Buxton this weekend, but difficult to find a sponsor when 2,500 + runners)

I hope there will be lots of other people running MUCH slower than 40, like 60 plus.....otherwise I'll have no-one to chat to at the back!! And that's one of the best bits for me - the socialising

I have already entered. But I've a couple of friends who plan to enter on the day. Is this a safe bet? They're not going to have a wasted journey are they, because it's already full?
