SO nice to find people in a similar situation to me.. I am 28, 5ft 7inches, a lady, a runner..... I have had 2 babies in the last 3 years and managed to push my weight up to 14 stone. Not a good feeling.. Last yeat after the birth of number 2 I started to run! And in April 2005 completed the london marathon in 5 hours 18 min and 6 seconds!! I thought that by the time I had finished the marathon and all that training I would weigh 10 and a half stone but I am still 11 stone 11.... ! Its driving me crazy. I eat sensibly, run 3 times a week, a weekly mileage of at least 12 miles. Know its not that much but what with 2 babies and a husband too its hard to find time! Feeling miserable, just want to lose another stone but it just won't shift! Although my legs are muscly my tummy is still really flabby!! I need help! Any advice would be great! Thanks

The other question I have...... Is how can we get going faster. I thought I would be content just plodding along but now feel I want to be faster so I am not always at the back of the field. We have only been d=running since June and basically just try and run for 5 mins extra every time we go out. Although at the mo we only do 1 long one and 2 short ones a week...... Also, I have half marathon pencilled in for nov 7th (I think) is gonna be too soon after the great south run? Also........ should you run if you are stiff and a bit sore? I don't really understand the science of the art!!!!!
Thank you all so much for your help its really appreciated!!

Hi, can anyone help? My friend and I are running the great south run next weekend. How much running should we do the weeks before (and after). we ran our first 2 hours set on monday and just did a hilly 30 mins tonight (thurs) we thought we would do a flat hour sunday and then maybe 1 or 2 30 min jogs next week. Is this too much? We are beginners and quite frankly have not got a clue when it comes to training! We just run.. Desperately want to finish the race running on sunday. We average about 20 miles a week but we don't go very fast. Only a 10 minute mile! Any advice welcome really don't want to over do it and be dissapointed on sunday!
Thanks
