Elizabeth - I can't say I have had many people pulling up and asking me if I was in distress! A lot of my running is done offroad, so I don't tend to see that many people apart from the odd (so to speak) friendly hiker and the occasional sullen mountain biker. I have officially started training for Berlin, but am having difficulty getting my mojo back after a long winter of training for the Yorkshire Three Peaks. I am still plugging away though and hope it will all click into place sometime before 25th September. |

I don't know if this was the case last year, but apparently the energy drink provided at feeding stations will be PowerBar. It's always good to try and test it out before race day to see if it agrees with you. |

Having been blown around at the Yorkshire Three Peaks fell race last weekend (24 miles, 4800 ft ascent), it's now time to turn my thoughts towards Berlin. Like TD I'll be tweaking a Pfitzinger and Douglas schedule (the 18-week 55 mpw one for me, with the aim of qualifying for Boston 2013 with a sub-3.25). The tweaking will involve adding a few more 20+ milers, doing more marathon pace runs and binning a lot of their strides sessions and replacing them with longer reps or more threshold stuff. I'm really looking forward to the race. |
