Hi everyone, I was training for the london marathon in april until about 3 weeks ago when disater struck. i was out on a hard 6 mile run when after about 3 miles i started getting a really sharp pain down the outside of my right ankle just above the ankle bone itself. Having to hobble back 3 miles i immediatly put ice on it but the next day it had completely swelled up. so no running for a week. swelling went down but was really painful still so gave it another weeks res. tried running on it last tuesday and felt very uncomfortable and painful. so spent the week swimming to try and shift the problem. I evenually went to my doctors who seems to think its ligament damage. i have missed 3 weeks training and would like to know if there is any miracle cures for this problem and if i still have enough time to get the training in for april. i have a feeling the answer is probably no but thought i would ask. Cheers Chris |

Hi Every body, I have an entry for London Marathon this year and over the last month have buit up my long runs to 12 1/2 miles. then after trying my very best and avoiding this cold/flu thats going round got struck down with it sunday morning when i had planned to run 14. (bloody good job i didnt probably would be a lot worse!) anyway my question is, i haveb run since last friday which was 5 and my last long run was 2 weeks this comming sunday. i plan to run sunday (long run) but am not sure what distance i should do. obviously not 14 as thats just stupid after a cold and probably asking for a relapse. any suggestions?
