So this is over a week late........visiting my family on bank holiday weekend, and saw a Pirate descending through Sampford Peverell (Devon) with about 9 other riders on the Saturday afternoon. Anyone own up?
There's a popular theory around these parts that it's been nothing but rain since the drought was announced (I went running three times last week, and got rained on every time!). I disagree with this theory - it's rained ever since I bought a couple of watering cans.......
Good running everyone wot has runned. My cousin completed the VLM yesterday - yay for her. Alas I couldn't watch as I was in St George's Day parade.
Sounds like much fun was had by all . I spent yesterday in possibly the best named town in Englandshire - Marlow (). Actually I think strictly speaking I was in Bisham (drove past Bisham Abbey - looked v nice!).
My mate has the best Olympic Volunteering job EVER. Seriously. Her job is to stand with the photographers (i.e. great vantage points) at the Velodrome, and basically watch the cycling - how cool is that!! She's basically there to stop any interphotographer bickering as to who has the 'best' spot. Although she was told at her briefing that these are a long way from the papparazi - these are basically some of the best sports photographers in the world and any disagreements would be sorted out by the senior photographers. Apparently she might even be given some of their shots at the end as a thank you. Brilliant.
I am loving this great weather - no doubt it will get to the Easter holidays and start p*ssing it down.
Belated birthday wishes SVT - I hope you had a great day.
Crashie - he's not going to be replaced per se, Philip Clark will assume direct control.
The internal communications have been interesting - reading between the lines I think it's been one argument too many and someone had to go. And it wasn't going to be Philip.
Great lunchtime for a run - got to be the warmest day of the year so far. My legs are now smoked - 5 x 3 minute intervals with 90 sec recovery (except the last interval I extended to 4 minutes so I got to the top of the hill).
