| Thanks for the info and advice. Sounds mostly like Posterior Tendinitis. Managed to get my appointment moved to tomorrow night now so am resting and icing it as we speak and will hopefully have more answers tomorrow. |

Hi everyone,
I went out for a 20 mile run on Saturday (currently training for the London Marathon at circa 7:30min miles) 10 miles into the run I started to feel pain on the back of my right leg just above my heel into the bottom part of the calf, which I believe is my Achilles tendon. The pain wasnt to sever (probably 2-3 out of 10) but it did affect my run. It is now Monday (2days on) and im still feeling this pain.
Firstly I wondered if someone could clarify that the pain im experiencing is in fact my Achilles.
secondly, does anyone have any suggestions to why this has all of a sudden just occurred from nowhere, I haven't changed my trainers or anything in recent weeks and have never had this issue occur before.
thirdly, is they anything I can do to aid the recovery of this injury, I have a appointment with a sports therapist but this isnt until Thursday and rest is kind of out the question with the marathon coming up.
Any help, advice, experience would be greatly appreciated.

Stuart - read back. If you're selected they will get in touch somehow, telephone, answer machine message, email etc. Fear not.... ... carrier pigeon, smoke signal, shouting "STUART!!!" really loudly....
